Got TiVo? No? Get it cheap!

I don't have TiVo, but I do have DISH Network's DVR service. I don't know how I ever watched TV before. So I thank TiVo for pioneering this industry.

It isn't that simple. You pay a fee for the TiVo serivce, but that doesn't go to the shows. Meanwhile, the shows are produced with the expectation of selling advertising. If TiVo users aren't pulling their weight in advertising, they're effectively making the shows less profitable.

But I would think it is TiVo collecting the advertising dollars, not the shows. So the same problem continues for the shows.
