"One thing that bothers me," Thravar says, looking over Jacoby's shoulder, "Is 'ow exposed we are. Too many ways in, too many eyes on us. And we don't even know what room the swag's in, do we?"

[SBLOCK=Boddynock] You can use the xp pool for in-game creation as well, and you prolly know the others capabilities well enough by reputation to estimate thier UMD skill totals. You have hints that fhel doesn't need it or at least has the spell already, or perhaps a very good diguise skil. IG roll on Fhel 26 [/SBLOCK]

Fire fighting is mostly informal, but normally a runner is sent to the nearest temple for serious problems. Some of the nobles have a house priest, or younger son in the clerical orders.

OOC: Ah blast... was hoping for a proper fire brigade.

Watching Jacoby scrawl over the map Fhel nods approvingly. "Our easiest exit would be through the alley in the back. The rear windows would provide a suitable exit from the manor while the hedge will provide a modicum of concealment. A more subtle option is to organize some sort of "emergency" for which will require a carriage to whisk someone away to a temple, or mortuary. Such a carriage could be laden with goods inconspicuously enough and then depart without any unneeded riot."

Pausing for a moment, he looks at his companions. "If we can cause the Lord of Manor to bugger off for the evening, and perchance one of his servants falls dreadfully ill while he is at the ball, a priest and escort could arrive to see to the sick. Such an event most assuredly draws the worry and concern of all in the household into one place, therefore leaving an opening for the others to slip in, black art any safeguards and make with the ready. The servant won't survive however, so the priest and entourage will call for a hearse carriage to bring the body to the temple. Body and ready loaded onto the carriage and we're off. Or, something along those lines."

Jacoby furrows his brow. "S'cuse me Mister Fhel but do we know what goods are in the kip? Are we really gonna need a carriage to get it to the fencing ken? Can't we just dub lay or hoist inside, game and carry off our iron?"

Thravar claps his hands together loudly.

"Oi! You lot can finger your [Dwarf word meaning orifices] some other time. Let's get this plan wrapped up and get to work."

OOC: Ambrus the widows not shown (on the far side) of the house mirror the windows that are shown. The neighbors stable is ~30' from the NW corner of the house, 45' to the stable door.

I moved a summary of arguments to he OOC thread - hopefully this can clarify the needed details.

"You want subtle? Subtle is simple. We come in the back, we shut up anyone who sees us and threatens to make a peep, we scarper back out the way we came. The longer we jaw, the further we get from this haul. Get in, get the swag, get out, get it done."

"But, as was mentioned, depending upon the take we might need more than our hands to carry it off. Better to be more prepared than not." Fhel straightens the collar to his jacket.

"Before we can iron out the details of our plan, we have more work we need to do, firstly I will track down this disgruntled former employee and see what information he can provide about the manor, the staff, the number of guards and possible hiding places for any loot, then I'll track down the Butler's cousin and the goose girls family, to see what leverage can be applied there, if we do this right the gates will be opened for us by the butler or goose girl."

"Also I like the idea of creating a diversion while we're doing the heist. Anyway if there is nothing else to add, I'll go and see what I can find out tonight, Jacoby perhaps you'd like to join me, I'll meet everyone back here tomorrow night"
turning to look at Fhel "Bring you pass tomorrow night that will then enable me to create some copies"

"It might be best to split up some of the work on the investigation side, having the same person ask to many questions will get suspicious. I'll investigate the butler's cousin and the goose girl's family. You'll have the old pass tomorrow then, I'll also see to getting the lord of manor invited to the ball."

[sblock=DM]Gather Information +12, Know: Local +8 to locate the Butler's Cousin and the goose girl's family and anything else that he can on them. He'll then want to proceed to their residences in alternate guise.

Know: Nobility +8, Gather Information +12 to work out who is inviting who to the ball and then he'll see to getting in contact with them.[/sblock]
