Grappling an invisible opponent

Trying to figure out the effects, if any, of invisibility on grappling.

Obviously, the 50% miss chance, etc., applies when making an attack to start a grapple. But what if the attacker manages to grapple the invisible opponent? Or the grappled opponent manages to become invisible while grappled? Does this have any effect on the opposed grapple checks, or on the invisible opponent's escape artist check to wriggle free?

Thanks for your help.

Well, I don't think in Dnd logic it would have much of a difference once your actually in the grappling stage. I guess it really depends on how you envision "grappling" and how people do their damage. Do they do the damage from putting pressure on joints and locks or just pounding with fists etc. If the the second then invisibility would have an effect with grappling or using a light weapon.

So, sorry, not too much help there.

I would ad hoc that initiating a grapple required the 50% roll, but once you've got him it no longer applies, especially if you proceed to a pin.
