Greater Magic Weapon stacks with "Normal" magic weapons?

I don't have the latest revision of polymorph and such handy, but...

Can't you shapechange into something with DR (and then get that DR), which allows you to penetrate equal or lesser DR?

No. DR is a supernatural ability, and Shapechange does not grant those.

AFAIK, Shapechange does not allow you to gain supernatural abilities, and DR usually is.

to beat a dr of +3

1- a +3 or higher weapon
2- spells
3- a lot of damage
4- environmental damage (IE ceiling collapsing over creature)
5- GMW+3 or higher
6- ghoul touch then wail on the paralyzed victim, coup de grace (i think this is possible)
7- slow it, and haste yourself, and proceed to pound

Heya:

Does the enhancement bonus from GMW (say, +3) need to exceed the +2 in a +2 Flaming Sword to make it a +3 Flaming Sword, or does it need to exceed the effective/market bonus (whatever it's called) of +3 (+2 for the +2 and +1 for the Flaming) to have an effect on the sword?

GMW+3 cast on a +2 Flaming Sword would make it a +3 Flaming Sword. Flaming is not an enhancement bonus on attack/dam rolls.

Although some house rule it to override those extra bonuses, in this case you' have a +3 sword, not a +3 flaming sword.

It makes it a little less abusive then.

Right. That's why GMW is still useful at higher levels when you have more powerful weapons, because they may not have a "+3" enhancement.

Of course it's just about always useful for archers, or if you lose all your magic weapons.
