never even heard of this campaign setting before. I might have to check it out.

Wolf72:

do you have this book?

yes, I do ... and what TessDM said.

you can layer on MW abilities. For example: an ability is +1 attk (accurate) ... if you had a Masterwork item (there are 6 different levels) you could triple that and make it +3 to attack and +2 to damage (sharpness)

all the different abilities are called benefits, and there's enough that you can make many different items with differing abilities.

different levels are: 6 total ... here's two
fine - 1 benefit

superior - 4 benefits, may double up on a benefit once

BTW the setting is based off of Glen Cook's series about the Black Company (reccomended)

Dragon #358 included an article on additional nonmagical weapon properties. Things like a basket hilt, blood grooves, folded metal, polearms with extra bracing, serrated blades, better armor coverage on vital areas. They have prices ranging from +100 gp (for things like armor that is better insulated or ventilated) to +1,200 gp (for reinforced heavy armor, which adds +1 AC but +10% weight), and increase the Craft DCs by 3-10 points.

Useful stuff, and the reason I bought the issue.
