Greatest Character Showdown Round 4 (Results IN)

This is a fun poll, I just can't believe that the two characters in category 2 made it this far. Must have been in a soft bracket.

Buffy beat Samwise and Jack Burton, and Mal beat King Kong, John Crichton, and Hal Jordan. I wouldn't exactly call either of them slouches. (Note I don't much care for Buffy and haven't voted for her yet, even though I liked the TV show. Go fig.)

But thats the point how did Buffy the Vampire Slayer manage to beat Jack Burton! Come on who ever thinks of Buffy when naming great movies!

and is Mal Reynolds (or his programme) really that good

They do think of the TV show, though. However, every episode I've tried sitting through just...wears. Meanwhile, I can enjoy the movie a bit.

If not anywhere near as much as Big Trouble in Little China.

And I'd pick Mal over the likes of Buffy, Kong, Samwise...and so on, any day of the week. So yes, I would say he's "that good."

I imagine the winner won't last past the next round, though. Those familiar with the characters are often fiercely loyal (and rightly so, in Mal's case, at least, who I'm familiar with), but the familiarity is required first. Even for a niche group such as role-players, neither are as well-known as the likes of Tarzan or Yoda, and I imagine their life will be limited against the likes of Han Solo or Indiana Jones.

[Darth Vader] I hope so, Commander, for your sake. The Emperor is not as forgiving as I am. [/Darth Vader]

[Doctor Evil] I demand the sum... OF 1 MILLION DOLLARS! [/Doctor Evil]

[Obi-Wan Kenobi] You can't win, Darth. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can imagine. [/Obi-Wan Kenobi]

['Captain' Jack Sparrow] Not the rum! [/'Captain' Jack Sparrow]

I'm just not seeing it ... ok, in Dr. Evil's case, I can ;)

You know Dr. Evil has already been eliminated, right?

Anyway, voting ends tonight at 11 P.M. CST!

Yes I do. As has been Darth Vader, and as will be (sadly) General Kenobi. And all three of them by Jack Sparrow. Hence the comparison.

Anyways, since there are far worse characters to lose to, I'd say "Drink up me 'earties. Yo ho!"
