i think you are thinking of his version of Rule Britianinja
You misspelled "Rule Britanja", where the j is pronounced as y, because ninja is a German word (which also explains why the plural of ninja is ninjae). HTH!

Arethra Franklins respect will make the list.

Cake's I will survive will make it onto the really interesting cover list.

No doubt covering the imperial death march will be there too as will A Ska cover of tetris.

Now, it occured to me this morning that Gwen Stephani's take on "Its my life" is pretty darned good and might actually supplant the original. Only time can tell.

I might gamble and throw it on there...

We will see...

It's just The Imperial March.

One more:
Less Than Jake "I think I Love You," anyone who can make that song cool has to be good.

Yeah, but "death march" sounds so much kewler. :P

Just came up with an idea for a third comp-

you start with say Bob Dylan covering someone.

Then you do Jimi Hendrix covering all along the watchtower.

Then you do Stevie ray vaugn doing Little Wing

and then you find someone who has covered a Stevie Ray Waugn song

and you keep going like that.

Another interesting thread would be- Paul McCartney covering someone... Guns and Roses Knocking on heavens door, Sheryl Crow Sweet Child of Mine...

That would be kind of fun to listen to...

Come to think of it, Dolly Parton's, "I Will Always Love You," is up there. Not actually cool, but certainly little known.

Dolly Parton is the lyric writer, composer and original artist on "I Will Always Love You." It is Whitney that did a cover :)

I'm surprised that the cover to end all covers hasn't been listed.

Johnny Cash - "Hurt"

There will never be a song & artist combination more poignant and appropriate. Trent Reznor is the composer and original artist.

See Post number 29. I nominated Cash for 2, hurt and ring of fire...

I think he was saying that Whitney's version was THE cover of that song. I don't know if I could put "I will always love you" on the list... Even though Whitney's version meets the criteria. This is somthing that I am supposed to want to listen too, and well, IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII wiill Alaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaays Looooooooooooooove youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu! is not on the list.

I need to find some punk cover of it... and have that as a stand in. Hrm my standards are dropping.
