V&V game in college. Playing by the book, everybody is playing themselves as masked superheroes.
On one mission, they break into the lab of a scientist who demands they leave; they rough him up a bit and break a bit of stuff before they go. He presses charges.
One of the characters (who was not involved in that session) has a relationship with a Government Agent (he knows her only as her super alter ego); he invites her to dinner and ask her to deliver letters to her masked teammates.
(That exchange above took place outside of our normal sessions, and I give her real sealed letters to hand to the players).
At the next session, she gleeful declares she has letters for everybody and hands them out. They are of course Subpoenas.
I sat and got to watch as each person opened their letter and their eyes get large as the read it.
While that is not exactly how it would have worked in the real world, it was totally priceless. The girl that I used to deliver the letters was so mad at me for being used like that; she barely spoke to me for the next 2 days.
