Radiant Soul adds charisma to spells that do radiant or fire damage. A regular paladin divine smite isn't a spell, so it wouldn't benefit from the ability. Spells like Searing Smite and Branding Smite would though.

Plan B...I want a couple of extra level one spell slots. So, perhaps cleric for a level? Might want to do a few of the (name escapes) spells that do 4-16 and grants advantage and follow up with GFB the following round...

The Paladin is still a good Plan A. Searing Smite lasts 1 minute, and you can use your Warlock slots to cast them. So you get scaling damage and Chr bonus damage.

The Guiding Bolt spell grants advantage to the next attack to target that enemy, not your next attack. So outside of 1 on 1 duels, you're really setting up the group rogue not yourself.

I also had the insight about Guiding Bolt. Surely another party member would beat me to it.

Paladin would get a fighting style and lay on hands as well...2 spell slots but at the cost of two levels...

You can even use a Green Flame Blade attack to deliver Searing Smite.

(Although my personal favourite is to use Booming Blade and Thunderous Smite together. )

You have to read these Smites carefully. The spell lasts 1 min. Or until the next time you hit with an attack. Pali smites are not good for warlocks because you might as well just use eldritch smite.
