Green Lantern Rebirth (Spoilers)

Okay, so what's everyone think so far?

On many levels, I'm controlling the urge to vomit.

I mean how often can the Guardians screw up with these ancient, elder evils? Anyone remember the bit in JLA where Martian Manhunter becomes like unto a GOD because of them and now this bit?

On the other hand, much like with a crappy action movie, if I sit back, rub my head, take my pain medication, I can stomache it and go, "Not bad."

At the end of the last Green Lantern series, Kyle goes off into space because he feels unneded here.

In Rebirth, it looks like they're brining all the old boys back. Guy Garden loses his whole warrior bit, John Steward is back, Hal looks to be coming back as well.

Reveleaded that his other identity, Parallax was some ancient entity type deal that the Guardians imprisioned in the main power battery and it was yellow, which is why the rin'gs had an impurity in them and why Kyle's ring didn't.

Specter joined with Hal to try and prevent Parallax from taking over but has apparently failed.

That about cover it for those in the know?

WizarDru -> No travesty. It's the honest-to-Oa return of Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps.

Joe -> Please, spoil me silly!

Honestly, I don't care how they bring Hal back, so long as they do. I never much cared for Kyle. He was alright, but I never felt he really "had it".

And personally, I am very much enjoying GL:R.

I liked Hal Jordan as Green Lantern in the seventies. I also enjoy Alan Scott as Green Lantern in the JSA. I also like Kyle as Green Lantern. The only person I didn't like was Guy Gardner as Green Lantern. Of course, with the return of Hal Jordan as Green Lantern, can the return of Barry Allen as the Flash be far behind?

Just a little more

Parallax is a creature that feeds on fear and creates it, old as the universe, the destruction left by this creature is unknown in numbers.

It is now stated. that the Green spectrum is the collective willpower of all the beings within the galaxy or the universe, the rings are the focus/control points to harness it, using willpower to direct it.

Three laterns(Kilowog, Guy Gardner, and John Stewart) on earth are going nuts(and kicking major butt, the wrong one), because Parallax/entity has effected the will of the ring holders, Kyle...has so far, resisted. Alan Scott, is also effected, but not as bad though.

The Yellow P, was alseep for a long time, and someone woke him up...and who was it?

Sinestro. (He's BAAAAACKKKK)

Who shot up Ollie with yellow arrows in the last and latest book, and oh, Parallax has control of the Specter and Hal, yupe, he beat them both in a willpower contest straight out.

To Be continued.....

Hardly. Barry Allen went out with a bang and the transition of Wally into the role was well plyed, including the feeling of not deserving it. But Wally has been The Flash for almost 20 years (!!!!), and he's cemented into that role.

It's annoying because they're trying to also make Hal younger too. "He must have wondered why his hair went gray at such a young age..." Uh... what was his first apperance again?

I personally like Kyle. The style that the authors brought to his use of the ring, being an artists and having a vast imagination, really allowed them to make the ring more than something that just made shields and kept the wearer alive for 24 hours.

Hal had some great moments. Who doesnt' remember GL/GA team ups? How about the Road Back? Lots of great stuff there.

The inability of comics to move on though, is one reason why I tend to enjoy manga. "Man, I can't wait to see how Lone Wolf gets out of this... Wait, what do you mean he's dead?"
