[Green Ronin] Announcing the Book of Fiends

Just sell AotA and LoH for $7.5 each and add the $20 that you would have payed for a 96 page product...

I personally wold also have loved a good Brom cover, but that could be very expensive ;-) My first impression of the Fiends cover is cartoonish, that is, until i look at the somewhat large picture. There's some more detail here, but not nearly enough to do it justice (i think), maybe it's an idea to give us a 150dpi preview ;-)

As for minis, maybe you can work out some sort of deal with Reaper?

I'm really curious, with the higher CR of for example pitfiends, will the CR of the Lords increase (or some of the other high CR fiends)?

Any chance that Hordes of Gehenna will be a standalone product? I didn't see it on the website.

Having already bought LoH and AotA, I would rather not spend $34.95 on what would essentially be just HoG - 3.5e updates notwithstanding. :/

Way back when Hoards was conceived, we thought it would be a good third stand-alone in the line, but after considering the numerous (if small) changes that 3.5 has inspired, we really felt it would be best if we could both 3.5-update (and add to) Legions of Hell and Armies of the Abyss and address the Daemons at the same time. It just makes better financial sense for us to approach it all at once, and not print Hoards of Gehenna separately.

That said, it's certainly possible Chris could be convinced to eventually release the Hoards material separately as a PDF, though that still wouldn't address the issue of the LoH and AotA material being designed under 3.0 and HoG using 3.5. The idea with Book of Fiends is to make all three "books" as seamlessly compatible as possible.

This should be really good.

Any chance we'll see some of the core classes from 3.0 updated to 3.5 as some of them serve these evil powers? I'd love to see some of the prestige classes online updated to 3.5 for example.

Possibly. The unholy warrior is a good candidate but we also want to maintain the focus of the book.

More tie ins to the Book of the Righteous?

Oh yes. That's why we got Aaron Loeb to do the Gehenna cosmology chapter, so it'd link up with BotR.

More art that was cut? I believe that Leviathan was the one I'm thinking about.

Yes, and lots of new art too.

The Abyssal Dragon Template in the book?

Yes, absolutely. I wrote that. :)

(although I don't know if GR got anything from that deal or not).

Our undying love and gratitude? :) Seriously, GR are very cool cats and helped us out in a big way, and we love them for it.

:o

I figured being a decent company willing to work cooperatively with others was just the right way to behave. But I suppose I can live with undying love and gratitude. ;)

Seriously, though, it's a cooperative effort that just made sense and we were happy to do it!

I suppose it's too much to hope that the Abraxas in this book doesn't go out of it's way to slander my religion, like the one in Armies of the Abyss did...

Sorry man, I don't have the faintest idea.

Please, please, please put in a chart (or something) indicating the appropriate Summon Monster spell for each of these guys.

If you do, I promise to buy the book right away (instead of buying it later :)

We did something like this for the Avatar's Handbook. Seems like a good feature to me.

Reading over the entry in question, I have a difficult time seeing where any specific religion is targeted in any way.

Care to elaborate?
