To answer the flavor question,

Mountain Dew made many years ago, vaguely citrusy orangy limey flavor unique to itself. ( History )

Code Red adds a cherry flavor to this, It began as a limited promotion in the Summer of 2002, and when fall came instead of stopping they just continued to sell it.

LiveWire was came about in the Summer of 2003 with the note on the bottle "ONLY SUMMER 2003" It has an orange flavor and is largly indisguishable from Orange pop (sunkist etc) Strangly it returned this summer with the note "ONLY for SUMMER 2004"

Baja Blast is only avalible this summer in taco bell fountains... The glass I had was undrinkable I poured it out and got Code Red. It was clear and shared no traits with Mountain Dew, just a Very Biter version of Sprite.

Pitch Black is the new one, I havn't tried it yet, Supposed to be Grape.

Original Dew has a yellow color with just a hint of green, it's not described as urine for no reason...


I just made a trip to the store, Pitch Black is um I'm not sure yet, It's got quite a bite, but it was warm, I'm chilling it right now.

Am I the only one on the boards who absolutely hates Mountain Dew? And soda in general? The only carbonated drink I'll touch is ginger ale (preferrably Canada Dry), and nothing else.

I love Baja Blast, it has a Surge flavour but better.

I can't wait to try the new Dew and Pepsi.

Oh and Live Wire is sorta permanent. It is around everywher every summer. Although some areas its around year round.

Coffee sucks. I can't even stand the smell of it.

I had four liters of Pitch Black this weekend. The taste was actually a bit flat, I thought. Not as good as I expected. And Livewire tastes nothing like Orange Crush or Sunkist, it tastes like carbonated Tang.

That's why I consider it 'permanant'. I think it's popular enough they're either going to keep it going from now on, or keep bringing it back every summer.
