Greetings and palpitations all you caffeinds, a new black death arrives from Mountain

Ughhh, dew. And now 7-up and sprite have these new "berry" flavors. Man, I know they said variety, but I've always liked the same soda. And no-one has mentioned the king of sodas, red raspberry diet rite!!! The King!!!. BTW, if anyone's ever seen regular red raspberry rite, I'd love to know, I don't think it exists.

Am I the only one on the boards who absolutely hates Mountain Dew? And soda in general? The only carbonated drink I'll touch is ginger ale (preferrably Canada Dry), and nothing else.

I'm kind of with you. Havn't had soda in 4 years come this December. Not so much because I didn't like the taste, but because it's just bad for you.

Odd, Mello Yello seems relatively common around here. I usually treat regular Mt. Dew and Mello Yello as more or less interchangeable, with a slight preference for the Dew.

Obviously, I much prefer MY.

It disappeared around here during Coca-Cola's ill-fated SURGE! release. I know it stayed on the shelves in the South and Midwest after SURGE! finished tanking, but it didn't come back in the DC area.

Now, I have to either special order it from Total Beverage, drive up to *&^%ing Frederick to get bottles, or get it in a fountain south of the Beltway. However, GWU seems to have it in its fountains, so I might have to go back there.

Brad

PS - Does anybody remember SURGE!? That was an...acquired...taste.

Drinking some right now. It's not terrible, I guess. Grape and orange soda aren't my favorite flavors, so I don't think I'll get anymore, except to try a grape/orange sherbet float. :D Does Pitch Black turn your teeth purple?

I don't like soda in general. Like many of you, root beer and cream soda are held close to my heart (literally and figuratively). Other ones are dnL. Don't know why I like it so much. But I'll still take tea, water, juice, and lemonade over soda any day.

As blasphemous as this may sound, I prefer LiveWire and Pitch Black over regular Mt. Dew. I just got burned out on regular Dew rather quickly.

Then again, I like a lot of orange & grape sodas (and actual lime ones as well; not lemon-lime, but lime). I'm a big fan of ginger ale, root beer, & red sodas (ala Big Red).

But, my main addiction is Coke. Mainly Coke classic & Vanilla Coke. Liked Diet Coke with Lemon (& the Lime variety), but I'd love to get a regular Coke with Lemon (or Lime). Don't often drink Pepsi (though I do like Pepsi Twist, since it's the only regular cola w/ lemon that's available at the moment).

Mt. Dew sorta is a staple of our gaming group, but the master of the gaming-night beverages is Dr. Pepper for our group. I occasionaly drink it (not a big fan of the stuff myself--like I said, I'm addicted to Coke), but it's pretty much the caffeinated, carbonated drink of choice.

I liked New Coke.

Hell Yeah! Yeee! (bang! bang!) Haw! </Simpson's Texan>

One thing I dislike about travelling up north. You can't order it in most restaurants.

And contrary to popular belief, DP has never been made from prunes.

Big pet peeve of mine as well when I moved up here from College Station (where I grew up and went to college both.) Hell, even the Lone Star Steakhouse was telling me: "No, but we've got root beer." Root beer? WTF?! I like root beer well enough, but offering it as a replacement for Dr. Pepper is just plain wrong.

One reason I love Wendy's (aside from the best fast-food burgers out there) is that most of them keep Dr. Pepper. I love that stuff.
