Greyhawk: Doomgrinder? Uh oh.

I blew up Greyhawk about ten or twelve years ago. Tharizdun woke up and ate nature.

Both of you can get behind Waldorf. He's already done it, and taken the remaining hunk of the planet and used it as his interstellar fortress, with the gods imprisoned in its belly slaving away at mining.

Personally, I've always disliked the "doomgrinder clock" - it's always struck me as a silly image.

Personally, I've always disliked the "doomgrinder clock" - it's always struck me as a silly image.

The only thing silly about it is that it recycles a Cold War era idea for a D&D game, where clocks aren't common enough to really serve as a scary metaphor.

I like Star Cairns and Return of the Eight, although Doomgrinder isn't really my cuppa'.

I agree. Return of the Eight in particular was excellent, and I liked Star Cairns and Crypt of Lyzandred. Doomgrinder wasn't great -- it was basically a big series of fights inside a huge juggernaut full of derro. It did introduce the town of Diamond Lake though (as seen in Age of Worms) and had a cool vampire encounter which I followed up with an enjoyable extraplanar adventure to return one of the vampire's souls.
