[Grim Tales] Errata?

Serps

First Post
Hi. Is there any errata or suggestions for Grim Tales? I bought the book a week ago, but there's a few things that look awry:

* Melee smash vs ignore hardness - why would you ever choose the latter?
* Improved Caster Level - this seems, er, strong?

...and possibly others that I have missed.

There is errata around somewhere, but I can't seem to find it.

I know that the melee smash / ignore hardness thing is directly from D20 Modern. Ignore Hardness in D20 Modern was corrected to 2 pnts per level.

This errata file is the most recent version.

Thanks, Wulf!

Oh, another thing: is there really meant to be a difference between holding your breath under suffocation and holding your breath underwater? One allows =CON rounds before taking suffocation subdual damage, but the other allows 2xCON rounds for essentially the same situation...

It sounds like errata, but if you want to rationalize it, I suppose you could argue that being suffocated (unwillingly) isn't quite the same thing as holding your breath (willingly).

I think, but do not recall for certain, that this difference appears in the DMG and that 1X is "correct".

Though I can also agree with the rationale you presented.

My question: Regarding the Crippled condition: What causes this condition to occur? (other than GM decree)

I can't find any reference to crippled under either falling or massive damage.
I have been known to experience amazing feats of selective blindness before, so maybe I'm just oblivious. But I don't think it is there.
The Heal skill does discuss removal of the crippled condition, but not how you get there.

Hmm... I can't remember if I created this term myself or not, but I can tell you one way to get there:

Caltrops.

Heh, I hadn't thought of that one. But it does fit the description.

Don't know where the term comes from, but I don't recall ever seeing it before.
