[GRIM TALES] For GT regulars: Have you read Slavelords?

Wulf Ratbane said:
Serious question: Do gamers just choose not to ask (demand?) that a store order a certain product? I tend to be fairly confrontation averse when I walk into a game store-- but then, I usually walk in to browse, buy a little something to support the store. I don't often go in specifically looking for anything.

Edit: And to answer your question...

I'm usually declared an a$$head for my belief that market forces should affect all markets, but I find a deal online, typically, and buy whatever I'm looking for there. I love my local game store for three things: Actually browsing a book before I buy to determine if it's what I want, buying comics and miniatures, and playing an occasional game with people I don't know.

I understand purchasing locally is a loyalty thing and not doing so may make the FLGS go away, but I also don't want to pay 20-30% more for the privilege when an alternative market is a better deal all around.

Anybody interested in a Slavelords Play-by-Post?

Are you insane? Trying to cause a riot? I'm game.

I read the first chapter, but I'm pretty good at keeping personal knowledge and character knowledge separated.

I'm going to exercise my right to reserve this spot for Old One, if he wants it.

But I am keeping the "sign up" open till the end of the day.

I'm giving preference to folks (a) who have previously told me they haven't read it (so there's no point lying about it henceforth, you cheeky bastards) and (b) who are what I would consider "regular" participants in GT-related threads.

Neither have I. We'll see how it works together.

Of course, I'm counting on you not to read the adventure (although I will likely change some details...)

That's 1. Anybody else?

EDIT: Two counting Fenris. You'll probably have to keep a tight lid on yourself through Book One.

I'll be putting a thread together in the proper forum once I have a feel for who's interested. I'm also considering running it using Iron Heroes (if I can pick up that book in a timely manner). That would, I think, make for a really kickass game-- provided IH lends itself to PbP.

PbP? Hell...I am in...it is the only gaming action I am getting these days ;)!

Woot...and here I am! In fairness, I have read most SLoC threads...screatch that, all of them...does that count against me?

I ordred Slavelords and GT as a bundle directly from Indie Press Revolution a few months ago, primarily based on Old One's game at NC Game day. I have read the first couple of chapters of Slavelords and skimmed the rest. It rocks! I hope to run it someday, but now I'm too busy settling into a new job after a big move to even find a gaming group. Once things calm down, I'll find a group and see who's interested in Grim Tales.

Congratulations, you just got elected "GM's Helper."

I haven't done PbP before so I don't know how it will work out for me. I do have the advantage of having all sorts of illustrations, maps, and support materials in easily accessible electronic format. (And a certain facility with the adventure, of course.)

If you know of any PbP Primer that will get me up to speed, any tools to help out, let me know.

Having read Slavelords threads shouldn't disqualify you. I can't recall what sorts of spoilers might have been mentioned. Maybe I should have folks email what kinds of spoiler information they DO know so that I will know what to change to make it more exciting for you all.

Basically I'm scoring potential players on a 2-point Boolean scale. New to Slavelords? Participated in GT threads? (Ergo Old One has a perfect 2 score.)

I've never played in a PbP, but I'm interested. What sort of time commitment are we looking at? Do you have to post every day? How's it work?

Of course, I may rate a zero on Wulf's Boolean scale. I've been off the boards alltogether for awhile due to moving and I have Slavelords. Spoiler-wise, I only remember the very basic plot of the adventure, and some of what happens at the end of chapter one which sets up the rest of the adventure. Beyond that, I don't really remember very much. I certainly won't be offended if I, therefore, don't pass muster.

Ditto.
On another thread, I suggested that IH & GT might be combined & offered the term "Grim Iron".

Hmmm...unfortunately, I am a PbP dunce...never having done it before...shall I post on the General Board for ideas?
