I'm not sure that any (?) ENWorlders attended the Lake Geneva Gaming Con #3 a couple of weeks ago, but I thought folks who hadn't attended might like to check out my pics from the show at

http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2090630524

At the very end are some pictures from a few days before, of Ethan and I painting miniatures one morning, too. Feel free to skip those if 3 year olds painting orcs don't interest you :D

What's Gary playing? Space checkers?
Is that guy playing with Gary an elf? He literally looks elvish.
Did the troll actually live under the bridge?
Nice keep! It really does look like the moathouse from ToEE.

Looks like a good time. Wish I could have been there!

The only thing my nearly-3-year-old seems to like painting is himself :\

I don't use minis anyway, so I can't get him hooked that way. Ah well!

Cool pictures! What adventure was Rob running at the con? I can see a snapshot of the map behind his DM screen, but don't recognise it from his eBay auctions. Was it Lost City of the Elders?

That building looks familiar. Is it the Ruined Moathouse, by chance?

It is, in fact. Paul Stormberg had it custom-built for LGCC #2, and details of last year's battle are on DF @ http://www.dragonsfoot.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=18763

It was a blast to play Chainmail (which I've never played, only read before, sometime in the early '80s), especially against Rob Kuntz, Tim Kask, and John Bobeck (all three all-stars of the original Castles & Crusades society). Martin (white shirt), Rich (dice roller) and I were playing Evil, defending the moat house, and our victory conditions were to survive 25 turns and end with our EHP alive and in the tower with the secret exit, and we managed to pull it through (though I was hard going, that's for sure!) :D

I don't know what EGG was playing, but he's a chess junkie, so it could have been a chess variant, perhaps?

As a matter of fact, yes, Josh. We didn't have time to try to bribe him to the side of evil, but when good guys came pouncing across his bridge, he came out to let them know who was boss (though he didn't last too long, alas for us).

He ran LCotE for the first two years at LGGC (or at least once for sure, in any event). He had told everyone that he was going to run Bottle City for the show, but he changed it out at the last minute for Castle El Raja Key, since I had just finished editing Bottle City (which will be going to press this week in case anyone's curious). I was mapping, and it was a blast! :D Lots of fun in the two 8-12 hour sessions we played! I'll scan and post my maps sometime, if anyone's interested?
