Lots of options for a DM to make their ruling on.

Or have the paladin take their armor off before attempting stealth, or have the sneaky party members split off from the rest of the group. Thus reinstating the “never try stealth if anyone uses heavy armor” rule.
Remember, if you play with a paladin, stealth is not an option.
I believe the intent is aggressor rolls against a DC of the 8+ the defender’s relevant ability mod + the defender’s proficiency bonus.I totally get changing those two, but if that approach is meant to replace all contests they should say so and explain how to do it.
But if we interpret the invisible condition this way, then the invisibility spell, which gives the invisible condition and does nothing else, is pretty useless. You can repeat it as often as you like. You are not translucent. You are once again mixing up things. You just have the invisible condition.
If you move into line of sight and don't try to be sneaky, you are found.
What I do agree though is that the spell could state that you are translucent while the spell is in place. Would safe us a lot of discussions.
No. It is not RAW. The invisible spell does not depend on the hide action. So it does not end when you are "found". Or make a sound. But if we interpret the invisible condition this way, then the invisibility spell, which gives the invisible condition and does nothing else, is pretty useless.
But that is not the question. The question is whether you can be seen when affected by invisibility condition. If yes, invisibility spell doesn’t make you impossible to see. If no, you cannot find a person who gained invisibility from hiding with vision, as you cannot see them.No. It is not RAW. The invisible spell does not depend on the hide action. Can someone post the text of the new invisibility spell? But that is not the question. The question is whether you can be seen when affected by invisibility condition. Sure, but the question is not of what causes it to end, but of what it actually does while you have it. If it doesn’t make you transparent, then whether or not it ends when you’re found is basically irrelevant. If it does make you transparent, then being looked at wouldn’t constitute being found. Neither the hide action, nor the invisibility spell, nor the invisible condition specifies whether or not you are transparent while under its effects, so in the absence of any text stating otherwise, we must assume that all three operate in the same way RE: the subject’s level of opacity.No. It is not RAW. The invisible spell does not depend on the hide action. So it does not end when you are "found". Or make a sound.

The hide condition allows you to be found with a perception check which breaks your invisibility condition if they are an enemy. Or if you cast a verbal spell or make a noise louder than a whisper.
Whether the invisibility spell actually makes you invisible or just grants the invisibility condition with its own specific break conditions I would think would depend on the text of the spell.
Thanks.A creature you touch has the Invisible condition until the spell ends. The spell ends early immediately after the target makes an attack roll, deals damage, or casts a spell
That is the exact text of the spell, minus the “at higher levels” section.
