Guardinals! Help Needed.

Hmm... a guardinal based on dragons... nah.

Rhino, perhaps.
Tiger, to close to lion for my taste.
Owl and monkey, neither of these say epic to me, but then again, I made an CR 19 armadillo guardinal... :D

Any additional suggestions would be appreciated. :D

Draconal?

I would have proposed it also.

But usually, birds and mammals (except bats) are Good, while insect-like and reptilian are Evil. It's cliché, but it's unconsciously obeyed. Scaly angel would be weird; and with all those pics of St Michael slaying the dragon; having St Michael being a dragon would be even weirder.

This, of course, is a good reason for creating a draconal. :p

Bat-celestials would be chiropterals, the name alone is enough to forget the idea (desmodal would be even worse). Viper celestials would be viverals, it's already a bit better.

BTW -- Cervidals are more deer than goats. Deer are cervidae, while goats are caprinae.

Just for fun, what would you say of a porcinal ? :D It would fit well with a batracial.

More seriously, delphinal would be interesting. There's not enough aquatic outsiders, and they're rather on the fiendish side.

Knight: Rocs are not animals, also Rocal sounds like an anti-hairloss product. :p

Gez: Chiropteral actually sounds cool, I might use this, although not to an 'epic' guardinal. Delphinal sounds fun, I might use that eventually also.

Hmm..... Damn this is hard, I thought maybe basing it on a gorilla, but gorillal just sounds so friggin stupid.

More suggestions please :D

Since the original guardinals go all the way up to lions finding a superior animal might be a bit difficult (unless you do a whale I guess :D). What I would do is re-label all the existing ones 'lesser guardinals' and then make some epic 'guardinal lords' or 'greater guardinals'. Then you can use any creature you like (including a bat or the creatures already covered) and just do a super powerful version. The epic level hand book sort of does this with the LeShay to the elf so it's not unheard of.

What do you think?
