As folks trickle in to the thread, I'd like to get their opinion on the structure of the "Mini-Con" Game Day next April 22-23. If you haven't already heard, we're reserving the space at the student center for two days (Saturday and Sunday). Would you guys like to keep our time slots like they are (9-2, 3-8) for both days or think about switching to more shorter slots? An alternate that Neal and I were talking about was Saturday (9-1, 2-6, 7-11) and Sunday (9-1, 2-6). That gives us one extra game session and we finish earlier on Sunday. But it also means that there is no scheduled "hang out" time after gaming on Saturday and the games will need to be shorter in general.

The four hour sessions work great for the RPGA, but I have trouble completing a session in four hours. All my recent one-shots at the game store have run over. Also, if someone is late, it would literally kill the game.

I think it would be best to keep the normal hours. I love the Saturday dinner and would prefer to have it. Also, for people who want to head out on Sunday, they could always just play the first session and then head home. Alternately, we could have 4 hour sessions on Sunday and then keep the normal Saturday slot. 3 sessions in one day would be way too much for me anyway, so I'd probably only attend the first two if they were four hours slots.

Just my thoughts.

The more I think about it, I'm for keeping it as is, because although I can adapt to either, two games in one day may be all I can handle and still be "mentally fresh." It's been a Loooong time since I gamed almost non-stop from 9am to 11pm. :)

Anyway, I'd like to get your opinions on this whenever possible so we can start planning ahead. And to make sure I'm clear, we're just talking about the April Game Days, not the one upcoming in September, which will stick to the traditional format of 9-2, 3-8.

Frankly, I've yet to participate in a Game Day event that ran shorter than the alloted time - most ran over. I understand the appeal of an additional gaming slot, but I think that the shaving an hour off existing times will only lead to more scrambling to vacate the table.

And Rel, I'd love a chance at more Sky Galleons if such becomes available. Based on previous experience, Old One's game is enticing as well...

So much goodness already. And this time, I'll be in town to participate!

Sounds good to me, you had me at BCCS. I'll be happy to play Vercinius again.
Either scenario sounds fine, though. Sand or water, I'm in for either.

Rel, I'll be interested as always in SG, though I'll let others through if I get to play the pre-game warmup ;)

I think it should be left as is, with time for dinner on Saturday night.
You could always have an optional "Open Board/Card Gaming Hour" after the 2 rpg sessions to allow us roleplayers a chance to play some of the board games in the room next door, then head to a late dinner at 9-9:30pm. Those guys always look like they are having fun, but I never get to join them because I'm too busy in the RPG room!

Shadowrun: Livesavers ACME Inc. will be on the game lists!! Likely an afternoon shift as me and mornings do NOT get along.

I reserve my spot here. Well I've already got the character from last time. ;)

Offering: Planescape Victoria

Well I'd like to put out my offering for this game day. It will be in the slot that Clueless's game is not in.

The game is probably going to be for low level PCs set in Planescape on a Victorian Era primeworld. The party is going to get involved with an Arcanaloth (probably not by their own choise) and will be going on a mission for him as he studies the oddities of the plane.

The game will probably be using D20 Modern/D20 Past rules for character creation.

More babbling on this to come.
