Guess What?! NC Game Day VIII is September 10th!

Noted. As mentioned above...I am kind of leaning toward the ship-borne scenario...but let me think on it a bit.

Either way then. If my 75th level half-dragon uber character has to eat Rel's character like the cannibals do to remain in protocol then so be it :) See bite 1 on left pic <

But really, I'm in for whatever, with whatever kind of character, but I only usually get half the gameday so some depends on scheduling. I usually can pick morning or evening session but not both, it's not nice to the wife to let her watch my toddler and 3-year-old all day ;)

Are any ENWorlders from the DC-metro area planning on making the trip south?

The Universe and I have tossed around the idea of going (it's doubtful, but we'd LOVE to). Might (but probably not) be able to make it a possibility if we had some road-trip buddies to split the cost of gas with...

I plan on heading down...put I will probably fly (fat lot o' help I am). Maybe you could talk some of the folks from the MD-DC-VA Gameday(s) into trekking down.

Rodrigo? Xath? AIM-54? MarauderX?

Hah! Love that pic!

I will probably fly down on Friday and shoot for the AM session...but I am still figuring out how I can arrange the trip and get someone else to pay for it (via a legitimate business purpose) :p!

About an hour and half - two hours? Depending on the beach you go to, possibly more as you have to sort of get around that whole expanse of water there.

We are staying in Waves. According to Mapquest, Raleigh to Waves: Total Est. Time: 4 hours, 36 minutes Total Est. Distance: 229.51 miles

Going to have to think on this to see if I can work it out somehow.

I don't know if I'll make this one. My wife gets increasingly more and more frustrated at how much time I spend away from her in the evenings. She's very protective of my time. Since I'll have been gone for 5 days in August at Gen Con, I'm going to play this one by ear. It may be iffy, and largely depends on the kind of mood she's in if I ask.

If I do come, I'll be happy to run another session of Round-Robin GM'ing!

Queen Dopplepopolis - if I decide to go, you guys could ride down with me. You could leave your car in Richmond if you wanted to. I *sort* of know where I'm going, although CL has always done the driving in the past.

That time estimate is much more accurate than the one offered by Clueless if you are going to the Outer Banks (then again, she may drive at double the speed limit ;)). The southern beaches of NC are much more accessable and we just made the trip back on Sunday in less than 3 hours. You can get from here to Wilmington in only about 2 hours.

Queen D, I REALLY hope that you and The Universe can make it down. We always have a blast and you'll get to meet some ENWorlders who can't make it to GenCon (like Henry for instance). But if you feel that it is too much drive for not enough time here, perhaps consider waiting until the April Game Day next spring when we're doing Saturday AND Sunday.

I hope you can make it too, der kluge. But I understand about the time away from home thing. Perhaps a suitable offering of jewelry would spring you loose. ;)

I'm just popping in here -- I'm in Georgia, so I won't be attending, but I have a question.

How useful would you find a book with 24 sample characters, each presented at 5th, 10th, and 15th level? E.N. Publishing is working on putting one out, probably in late August, and we were hoping it could be adopted by Game Days as a preferred source for PC stats.

I'm afraid that Clueless may be correct about the eclectic nature of the games making it difficult to use much as a standardized source of PC's. If the PC's included things like "Orcish Wizard Who Is Too Dumb To Be A Wizard" or "Martian Sky Pirate" or "Flaming Marshmallow Elemental" then we'd be all over that.

It would not be that useful to me. I have yet to run a D&D game at the game day.

And of course 'drunken corpse of Ambrose Bierce' and 'Vampire fisted with C4'.

Can't forget them ;)

And I'm not sure if I'll run anything this time around. I've got planning still for my games at GenCon to finish up. We'll see, depends on what game concepts get tossed up in the meantime that get my attention to play. *grin*
