Guess What?! NC Game Day VIII is September 10th!

Henry,

Glad to hear the pooch is OK. We just had to take our 8-year old lab in for a huge tumor removal off of one of her hind legs. Fortuantely, it turned out to be benign.

And I haven't abandoned the Story Hour, OO -- but once work calms down, and home life becomes a little more sane I'l get back to it ASAP.

Yeah...quit slackin'...we need to know how this ends up before the next NCGD rolls around ;)!

What is it with you, did a happy ending bite you and pee on your leg as a child?

Hey, now...I was a happy, well-adjusted child...except for that pulling wings off of flies part :p!

So, I did it. I asked her, in all sincerity. At Scott's behest, I says to her:

"Honey, do you think that after the wedding I can go back to town for the second half of Gameday?"

I'd like to say something epic happened, but I'm sure all of my dear imaginative friends can guess her response.

Have a great Gameday, evybody!

*sigh, eyelash flutter* You had me at Bataan Death March ...but you cinched the deal with war-canoe driving cannibals. So I'm kinda leaning toward that second one.

As for me, I'm not sure what I'll do. It will likely be either the next Sky Galleons installment, which I intend to run at GenCon, or a Star Wars game that I'm going to try out in the next few weeks. I'll have to think about that some more.
Rel,

Kinda leaning towards the "Senator's Daughter"...lemme play around with the scenarios a bit. If you do a Sky Galleons reprise, I am so in...

As folks trickle in to the thread, I'd like to get their opinion on the structure of the "Mini-Con" Game Day next April 22-23. If you haven't already heard, we're reserving the space at the student center for two days (Saturday and Sunday). Would you guys like to keep our time slots like they are (9-2, 3-8) for both days or think about switching to more shorter slots? An alternate that Neal and I were talking about was Saturday (9-1, 2-6, 7-11) and Sunday (9-1, 2-6). That gives us one extra game session and we finish earlier on Sunday. But it also means that there is no scheduled "hang out" time after gaming on Saturday and the games will need to be shorter in general.

April is so far away, but I say keep the longer slots...4 hours is too short, IMO.

Sounds good to me, you had me at BCCS. I'll be happy to play Vercinius again.
Either scenario sounds fine, though. Sand or water, I'm in for either.

Noted. As mentioned above...I am kind of leaning toward the ship-borne scenario...but let me think on it a bit.

How far is it from Raleigh to the Outer Banks? I just realized that we are headed to the beach on Sept 10th, so I may have to miss this one unless I can convince my wife to ride to the beach with some friends, and I'll drive there on Sunday. :\

About an hour and half - two hours? Depending on the beach you go to, possibly more as you have to sort of get around that whole expanse of water there.

I'm just popping in here -- I'm in Georgia, so I won't be attending, but I have a question.

How useful would you find a book with 24 sample characters, each presented at 5th, 10th, and 15th level? E.N. Publishing is working on putting one out, probably in late August, and we were hoping it could be adopted by Game Days as a preferred source for PC stats.

Are any ENWorlders from the DC-metro area planning on making the trip south?

The Universe and I have tossed around the idea of going (it's doubtful, but we'd LOVE to). Might (but probably not) be able to make it a possibility if we had some road-trip buddies to split the cost of gas with...

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't actually - there's been an informal agreement with a lot of the GMs for the game day to "do something different than the normal" - since it's a one shot game and we don't get a chance to play these as a lot of our home groups are in d20 mode. We tend to see a lot more 'off the mainstream' sort of game systems being run. I'm not sure how strong that trend is amongst other DMs at the Game Day though, so they may have another perspective.

I will say - if I *was* running d20 it'd probably be useful.

And what's this about being in Georgia stopping ya? ;) There's other players what come from out of state too. *grin*
