Gunslinger Prestige Class and lv5 effective builds

Theorac

First Post
I'm aware im one of the few PF players who actually play the Gunslinger, but has anyone seen any Prestige classes suitable for them?

Sidetracking a bit, does anyone have a recommendation of class builds which are effective from lv 5? except sorcs/wizard types as i'm taking a break from em.

Thanks

I too play a gunslinger, though I am only lvl 3 at the moment. I am not sure why people don't enjoy the class, i think it's pretty fun. I enjoy the gunslinger flavor and grit is a fun pool of points to draw upon.

As far as Prestige classes, i don't think any of them are particularly geared toward gunslingers. A few i thought might work (assuming you're good or lawful aligned) would be Chevaliers, Hell Knight, Horizon Walker, Justiciar, Steel Falcon, and Student of War.

If i were to go prestige class with a gunslinger, I think i would probably choose Chevaliar or Justiciar. The chevaliar because i think the various abilities: recklessness, aura of courage, and stubborn mind mesh well with the heroism and grit determination of the gunslinger. Justiciar because gunslingers are often a "law man" type guy, who rights wrongs and dispenses justice, whether that be through arresting and trial or lead. the various law powers of the Justiciar seem to also fit.

horizon walker because gunslingers seem like travelers. The others fit because many of the skills mentioned i think are class skills for gunslingers or just useful in general.

no suggestions on lvl 5 builds though. best of luck

Thanks for the prestige class rundown. However, IMHO those classes don't do anything to help as they focus on other weapons, although the Chevalier has some nice buffs - minus the controlled charge.

Best of luck to you as well, fellow gunslinger.

Necromancers of the Northwest (necromancers-online.com) has a book coming out on Monday called Master of the Gun. When I listened to the podcast where they were talking about it, there were a few prestige classes in there. NotN puts out good quality products (in my opinion) and it'll probably cost somewhere around $3. It'll probably be worth it.

Half elf Gunslinger 1/ Synthesist 4

Feats: Rapid Reload, Multiweapon Fighting, Precise Shot

Put favored class bonus into evo points.

Get 2 arms evolutions totalling 6 arms on a biped. I don't have to tell you what to do with those 6 arms.

IIRC guns are touch attacks at close range so to hit penalties matter little. What you have is one powerful burst attack, after which, draw 3 greatswords. Moderately effective, if not optimized.

I have NO IDEA how well this will work though, but 6d6(assuming the absolute cheapest guns) as a ranged touch attack isn't too shabby at 5th level, after which you can just cast haste and jump into the fray.

A side effect of this build is that you probably look RIDICULOUS on the battlefield.

Don't forget you need to reload, so half those pistols will be dropped, and i would think you'd need a full round action to load half of them.
