I play in 2 3e campaigns and in both campaigns there is one person playing a bard. I used to hate them as well... well, not hate, but think they were pretty darn useless. However, the bard in our group does her thing and gives us all bonuses, shoots an arrow, and can sweet talk, or threaten information out of just about any NPC that we meet. These bards easily pull their own weight during the course of the adventure. While I probably won't play a bard anytime soon, a well played bard is a great asset to the group. Bards get my respect.

a "rouge" hiding in the "foilage" is just WRONG and would definitely not kill the master bard that I am.
