H1-H4 Bloodstone series

Has anyone tried a conversion of the old Bloodstone series? It would be cool to see one now that we have lots of good rules for high level play.

currently impossible without breaking the 'Gentlemens' agreement that is out there. Since orcus and most of the higher level creatures are level 20+ and that material is NOT SRD it would take quite a while to convert and build up new monster stats..messy..but could be quite fun!

Sigh....

shame really. I have very fond memories of those adventures - most of which involve horrible and unusual deaths. :)

There's still hope...

You're forgetting the upcoming Book of Vile Darkness, coming out later this year by WotC. Chock full of evil nastiness - including stats for many of the very demon princes and archdevils one might encounter in the Bloodstone series.

So someone writing up a H1-4 conversion might just want to wait for those books to come out, and then in an indirect sort of way refer the user to those books for the stats of major demons and the like.

At least that's what I plan on doing, since the 3E campaign I'm running will be entering into the Bloodstone series fairly soon. I'm just now starting work on the conversion... so wish me luck.

well as most of the stuff can be converted easily enough using the SRD material (god bless 'em!). You could get through most of it using 2 pieces of information:

1. Monster stat block sheet: Great reference for all the monsters. It can be found online just need to search for it.

2. PCGen: Create all the PC's therein and export them using the WOTC template.

That's all I use and it has cut down conversion time from several weeks to several days. I pounded out 60% of D1-2 in 4 hrs thanks to those 2 pieces of data.

I'm on it...

Thanks for those suggestions, Leopold, I'll be tracking them both down tonight! I almost turned to E-Tools, but from the reviews I've read I think I'd rather go with PCGen or Campaign Suite...

I'd certainly love to see any conversions of these. Post here once things near completion, and I'll offer my second-born (well, okay, slight exaggeration) to get it...

BTW, anyone know off-hand if H1-4 are available as downloads from WotC? -- I lent my copies years ago to someone who then proceeded to move far away...

As a matter of fact...

Wizards does indeed have the entire Bloodstone series available to buy and download on their website: H1, H2, H3, H4 and FR9. You can get them at http://store.wizards.com.

Well, I was *going* to give you the direct URLs to each book, but it seems that store.wizards.com is down right now, so I don't know what to tell ya. I bought the ESDs from the store some months ago, but I don't know where else you can get them.

I suppose you could always look to buy the original books on eBay....

try www.svgames.com they have all the ESD's now..

Odd...

[strange, I replied to Red Baron earlier but it seems my post got deleted. Was there a forum reset or did I post something I shouldn't have?]

I know that the Wizards store had the H1-H4 series and FR9 available for purchase as ESDs, for around something like $5 a piece, but it seems that the Wizards store is either down or non-existant right now, so I don't where else you could find them or the originals.

EDIT: OK now my original reply is back so this is just a repeat msg... ignore this reply.
