Half-Elf Diletante Ability: Any Good Synergies?

I'm not certain it's optimal, but for Living Eberron, I chose Burning Spray for my Fey Warlock as the Half-Elf Dilettante power.
AoE effects are awesome.

IMHO, Fey Pact Warlocks suffer from a lack of melee & close attacks. So I'd consider taking one of the Paladin or Bard melee powers (e.g. Virtuous Strike).

The problem, at the end of the day you're left wondering why you didn't just create a sorcerer in the first place. :)

Thanks for the advice so far, everyone.

I placed Flavor ahead of sheer optimization, and because I originally wanted a controller, not a Striker. I was given the impression that Warlocks were more control than striker, while Sorcerer's were mostly striker. That's my reasoning.

A half-elf who accidentally stumbled into the feywild and made a pact with the Fey entities therein makes more sense as a Fey pact warlock than a sorcerer. ;)

I recently started a half-elf warlock. With Con as a primary, the diletante choices looked grim. I settled with Thunderwave, since with the Int secondary it only lags behind by one point, and I can use a wand as implement for everything.

I play a half elf starlock. I chose a Monk at will just so I can use the movement portion of the power and it gives me a +2 to speed once an encounter. It has come in quite handy.

The funny thing is, I used to have magic boots that did that. Once I retrainted to the monk power, it opened the slot up for much better boots.

I now have lightstep slippers (we just made 18th) and they rock, particularly against creatures with tremorsense since my shadowwalk ability is useless.

I'll keep these till I can get my hands on Boots of Teleportation (Level 28)! ;)

Basicly, you'll want either an at-will that uses a Weapon, or one that has an Effect. The one bug with Dilletante is that Implements don't work with it, because you need the ability to use foo implements with the class foo.

Personally, I'd delve into controllers or leaders for abilities if I have to. Because controllers don't have a lot of weapon powers, that means I usually look at Bards at the end of the day. Altho a half-elf Intellegence-based character could get some use out of Commander's Strike for sure....

Commanders Strike is limited though due to the range being melee as per the FAQ.

Yes, but it's a good fallback when you have no other options.

At the end of the day, it's worth looking at all classes that share a primary stat with your half-elf's class. Wizards, swordmages, psion, artificers all share Int, for instance.
