Half-Elf Diletante Ability: Any Good Synergies?

Commanders Strike is limited though due to the range being melee as per the FAQ.
It's brilliant when combined with a friendly Fighter, though. Someone's in your face? Great, now he's marked, and you can walk to the other side of the Fighter.

Well no doubt, Commander's Strike is, and always has been, very much a 'Your Mileage May Vary' power, depending very much on the makeup of your group.

But that goes with every power. Optimize for the group at the table, not a theory on a forum.

One of the most notable synergies listed on the CharOp link I posted was Eldridch Strike. Works as a melee basic and slides 1 on a hit. Makes a fighter's combat challenge even more effective: an enemy makes a melee attack against an ally? Eldritch Strike for your basic attack and push them 1 so the attack fails automatically.

Also, if you're a polearm build using all the polearm cheese, it gives you an extra bit of positioning.

How about any Half-elf with 13 or more Wisdom?

Claws of the Eagle Dilettante, with the feats Spirit Talker and Sudden Call. A very nice way to grant a Basic Attack(Ranged or Melee) to any ally, while making use of the square occupying Spirit Companion at the same time.
Go a step further, and talk the DM into allowing you to take Spirit's Prey as an encounter power in place of Spirit's Shield and Spirit's Fangs as mentioned by Spirit Talker. Now you'll never even need a Totem to work with the few Shaman powers you'll be using.

Basicly, you'll want either an at-will that uses a Weapon, or one that has an Effect. The one bug with Dilletante is that Implements don't work with it, because you need the ability to use foo implements with the class foo.

Personally, I'd delve into controllers or leaders for abilities if I have to. Because controllers don't have a lot of weapon powers, that means I usually look at Bards at the end of the day. Altho a half-elf Intellegence-based character could get some use out of Commander's Strike for sure....
Well, I'd say it's a bug that they didn't let the half-elf substitute Con or Cha for the diletante ability's normal attack stat.

Commander's Strike is a great idea. Think I'll do that.
