Warrior of the Wild > Dual Wield War Axes. If you use Windrise Ports MC into Fighter as well, take Eternal Defender ED > Dual Wield Executioner's Axes.
The average to hit from rolling twice is increased by +4, and since there is a feat that allows you to use Wis now for Diletante now, the +1 from not going Heavy Blades isn't really a huge loss (though if you actually do the above dual-wielding Fullblades with magic scabbards and Gauntlets of Destruction will be a little more DPR).
Requires Fighter (or Fighter MC). And yep, you can. My Goliath Warden (MC Fighter) Wields a Halberd 1-handed.I'm not finding the Eternal Defender option in the Character Builder...was it removed? So far as I know, even if you take this PP, you still can't wield 2-handed weapons in one hand, can you?
I think the real problem is that Versatile Master (and Dilettante in general) ranges from nearly useless to very powerful. Obviously many players are going to try to hit the powerful end of that spectrum, but in many cases that's just not possible. Dilettante is a neat idea, but unfortunately it suffers from the way that classes where designed in 4e. It might have been better if instead Half-Elves got a free multi-class feat, possibly not counting towards the usual 1-only limit. As-is it's definitely something that an eye should be kept on, but I think that's going to have to be up to the DM and players. There just isn't any way to prevent any possibility of Dilettante ending up broken, one way of the other. The problem is Versatile Master. Being able to use another class's at-will is absurdly powerful.
