Half-orc Scout spearfighter needs feats

What are some good feats for a spearfighter?

What I have now is a Str-based Scout with a spear/longspear who will be Spring Attacking as soon as he is able.

His feats are lined up as:

1st: Dodge
3rd: ???
Scout 4: Mobility
6th: Spring Attack

I had thought perhaps Power Attack at 3rd with Cleave later on may be a good idea. Track could help. So could Improved Initiative and Iron Will. Any thoughts?

There is a feat called (I believe) Short Haft in the Complete Warrior that allows you to choke up on your reach weapon and use it against adjacent foes...that could be handy.

Although it is a 2 feat investment, going for Fleet of Foot in Complete Warrior (and its prerequisite, Run) might make a pretty good addition to your build if you can make the Dex 15 requirement. Fleet of Foot allows you to make one direction change during a charge.

Dragon 331 had an article devoted to polearms so there might be something of use in there if you happen to have it.

Longspear? Umm hello...combat reflexes!
His Dex is 14; I'd hesitate to burn a feat on only one more AoO per round.

And since Skirmish doesn't apply to AoO's, I'd like to get feats that will enhance my proactive rather than reactive damage, though the reach-combat reflexes combo was well suggested.

I haven't decided on the Spear v Longspear issue: the Longspear will give me reach, but the spear can act as my ranged weapon as well; I'd just have to keep on the DM for the returning enhancement.

Oh yeah, there's a weapon property in Magic Item Compendium called Changeling. +2000gp flat cost, can only be put on spears, swift action to change between short-, long-, and regular spear.

14 Dex is two more AoOs from Combat Reflexes, btw. (for three total)

I'm an idiot. :o

Thanks. Combat Reflexes is gaining as they pass the first 1/4 mile.

What good feats will Combat Reflexes lead to? Power Attack + Cleave makes nice what with the two-handed weapon, and the fact that if I Cleave off of an attack that dealt Skirmish damage, the Cleaving hit deals Skirmish damage too. Will Combat Reflexes lead to something shiny, or would it be just for itself?

Oooo! Pretty!

There are plenty of good feats that require Combat Reflexes as a prereq. Off the top of my head, Vexing Flanker and Adaptable Flanker from PHB2 are pretty skookum.
