handless cleric(small rant)

*applause* This thread is so full of tasteless jokes, it's a pun in the ass.

More seriously, what sort of exploding device in D&D blows off your hand? It should do HP damage. Unless it was special 'hand-a'splodin' rocks, I feel your condition is a little unfair.

Actually it was a scythe trap...or more accurately a guillotine trap. There were quite a few in the module...cruel...cruel traps... :D ...

I actually played the Temple module when it first came out and lost 6 characters before i managed to get one to complete it....it's a tough adventure but a good one....

Signed...Lord Havok..the cruel Dm who took Stumpy's Arms.... :D

I wonder how my group would fare in that adventure, since we average at least one death/session...
Poorly. The temple is very unforgiving.

We should start a club. My gnome lost his hand years ago to that exact trap.
Sign me up. Human ranger, lost his left hand. Kinda had to retire the two-handed sword in favor of longsword and shield as a result.

Yeah. Much better to lend the poor guy a hand so he can handle his problem somehow; I'm sure he's stumped at the moment.

Come on folks the puns in this thread are really getting out of hand. :)

If you are on an adventure that pays handsomely then perhaps you can get the party to hand-over some of the party loot to pay for some regeneration spells.

Well, let's hope your cleric has a high Charisma and won't need hands to get by in the world, afterall, at least he's handsome.

As for what to do with him now, I'd hand-off the ol' cleric for another character, like a rogue, generally someone more handy in a trapped dungeon.

On the other hand, still spell is perfectly fine though I'd rather have a Rod of Still Spell instead, though you do have to hold the Rod while casting... I'd also recommend Eschew Hands, er Eschew Materials feat as well so the cleric doesn't have to always be, um, holding their symbol all the time.

You're right though, this thread is getting to be a real handful. Hardly worth reaching like we do for some of these puns, and most are coming up a tad short. If only I could grasp the true meaning of this thread...well, my hands are tied. Can't say I'm slap-happy about it though. I suggest clapping the necessary offenders in irons... :D

Still spell. Lots of them. O'....darn...you still have to hold up your Holy Symbol for everyone to see...

Well, so much for that cleric.

No no, you can do that with a stump!

Besides, you don't have to hold out your holy symbol, just present it. So if he wears it on his chest... on on a hat, he's still good.

Yes, the avatar is ironic. Are you a cleric of Ilmater? Did you change the avatar after the loss of your hands? Either way, you get a cookie for that one.
