it was pretty good.
probably the easiest book to turn into a movie, and that part showed.
some of the challenges seemed a little quick (presumably to stay under budget), but the fact that the movie didnt seem long at all probably means the scenes were longer than they felt.
the wrap-up was a bit lame, but you can't win them all.

definitely better than the third movie which was a big disappointment to me.
and probably better than 1 and 2 just because the story is better.

lol I hated 1 & 2 and loved 3 (werewolf F/X notwithstanding). Given Mike Newell's previous films (i.e., not the drek Columbus always gives), I am excited enough for 4 to be going on opening day.

In just 20 hours, the lights will dim.... Woo-hoo!!!

The reviews have been good, and I'm looking forward to it. Probably going to drag my GF to see it monday.

Just got back from the midnight showing, and I felt the movie was spectacular. Great acting, the funny parts were really funny, and the serious parts (especially THE serious part) were handled with a lot of care. The theatre went from rolling with laughter, to absolute holding-your-breath silence depending on the scene. Effects were superb. A lot more grim than even the last movie. Had to be cut way way way short to make a movie out of the book, a lot was missing (
Dursleys, the Quiddich World Cup match, including the Lepruchan gold and the Ron-is-poor-Harry-isn't sideplot, and a lot of little characterizations that are good flavor but don't heavily impact the story
), but the story in no way suffered because of it.

Sleep-deprived, so my post is likely error-laden, may try to write a better review sometime in the next couple days.

cool... I'm glad that it's a good movie. My nieces and nephews are big HP fans, so I'm going to go with them sometime next week to see it, when I'm on vacation....

My short review:
Excellent movie. Liked it better than Azkaban. The bits that needed to be cut got cut, the bits that needed to not be cut weren't.

Shorter review:

Best. Dragon. Ever.
