Trailer Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (Season 1) trailer

On the topic related, i read somewhere they should start filming S2 in mid to late 2026. Which is great. But yeah, post production on show like this is probably massive undertaking, specially because of heavy use of VFX. There will probably be overlap with post production of one season and filming of another to avoid 2-3 year gaps between seasons.
I think i read somewhere that they aren't going to do annual series, but could be spaced out like others. But if they can film the series annually at least would prevent issues around aging etc.

Not annually, but aiming for that 18-24 month window. With 7 seasons and gaps of 2.5-3 years, that's 15-20 years of commitment. Movies ran for 10 years since release of 1st till release of last one and that's already massive.

Personally, since first 2 books are rather short, i don't see them merit full 8 1h long season. They would do better with them being 4 ep per season each, then 6 ep per season for books 3-4 and only ramp up to full 8 ep for books 5-7. More staggered approach. But what do i know, i'm just rando on internet.

My fear is that we'll get lot of filler material in S1-3 with long wait periods between seasons.

If nothing else, I'd be a bit worried about the odds of having a large cast of child actors aging up healthily and "in-line" with the characters they play. It's frankly a miracle that almost all of the kids of the movies grew up to be stable adults. And we still had stuff like Neville's actor having to wear a fat suit and fake teeth for the last few movies because he grew up hot.

I agree with @GrimCo 's idea that having the earlier seasons be shorter would work well, both because of their reasoning and because it gives the kids a wider window to still believable be the age they're playing.

Hope she enjoys it. Do you think she would care about the author’s views and actions if she knew? Would she want to know? If I didn’t know, I probably would want to be told.
My mother is very much not into politics and I doubt she would be able to wrap her head around the transgender debate. Knowing my mother as well as I do I doubt she would see it as something that would stop her from watching the show because she just wouldn't get it.

Why? Is she an avid follower of Hex08's opinions about TV shows?
Avid follower? No. She does love watching movies and TV shows and will usually watch things I recommend to her so she respects my opinions because I know her tastes and recommend appropriately. Also, my response was less about (well, not at all about) my mother's opinions on my opinions of TV shows and more about people making sweeping statements about groups of people with different opinions but maybe I should have been more direct about that.

"Different opinions" is carrying an awful lot of weight here. Liking/not liking stories about British boarding schools is an opinion. Mindsets that support or are even just uncaring keeping people from life-saving medical care or equal participation in society is quite a bit beyond an opinion.

I meant Zaukrie not you.

Well maybe she should know that watching gives hate money. She might change her mind. Or not.
I don't care for the things Rowling has said but there are more things in this world that are horrible than I can count and many much worse than Rowling's statements. If everyone stopped supporting all of those things society would crumble. Everyone has to pick their own battles because no one can fight all of them and not everyone is even going to agree the battle is one worth fighting. I'm glad you feel as strongly as you do about the issue but I don't see how your "screw everyone that supports it" statement is helpful.
