D&D 5E (2024) Has Anyone Ran When a Star Falls (QftIS or OG). Relocating It to Faerun?

Zardnaar

Legend
As the title says. Im thinking of locating it in the Southetn Desertmouth Mountains but switching the locations around a bit.

Tower of the Heavans becomes Ramanath Tower ( pg 53 and 64 Heroes of Faerun).

Throw in a Selune reference and tie it to my backstory. Change some names up buff some encounters.

Has anyone run the adventure preferably 5E but anything works. Anything that trips you up, to hard, fun?

My group had a blast with it. Set in Faerun. 2024 rules. No issues. Wizard was almost killed outright due to Str drain in one of the first encounters. Burned inspiration and a luck point to prevent it.

Heh nice. I was thinking of adding a CR 3 or so to the encounters as 5.5 has bigger xp budget

WaSF drops quite easily into any generic fantasy setting, as it was originally written to do. As for combat balance, my biggest concern is the memory web at the start being a bit of a pushover. But the party are required to win, so it doesn't really matter. As for the rest, it's pretty political, who, what, where and how many the PCs end up fighting is going to depend on who they choose to side with. The toughest individual opponent (aside from the dragon) is the gnomish war machine (and there are two), but I doubt many groups will choose to fight the gnomes. The tinker gnome stat blocks from the Krynn DDB supplement could be used to liven up a conflict with the lawn ornaments. It's also going to make a difference if you use XP rather than the suggested milestone levelling.

The challenge of the adventure is really a matter of achieving what the players feel is a good outcome.

There is a "tunnel to the Underdark" in this adventure. It might be wise to think about what to do if the party decided to follow it,

Cheers. Not planning on much underdark stuff.
The main thing is, if the party feels overwhelmed by the final battle (not unlikely if you use XP and they are level 4), they may decide to flee that way. So if you don't want to do underdark stuff you might want to prep somewhere else for the tunnel to lead.

Small undertaking stuff is fine. I use milestone.

There will be some underdark later but won't be much.
