Has enthusiasm died?

I mean, when d20M first came out, this forum was hoppin'. All kinds of posts on how to use the system, what you are doing with the system and how can we tweak the system were here. In the last few weeks it seems to have dwindled to a coupla threads, and not much else.

Anyone disenchanted with d20M now that you have had a chance to did into it? Or can't you get enough players that are interested in it (my prob)?

I'm much more hip to it now than when it came out.

First off, I think the support is much better now.

Second, while I like spycraft and still think in many venues it has a leg up on d20 modern, d20 Moderns flexibility makes it an often used gaming solution.

I am playing a second world (hybrid D&D/d20 Modern) sourcebook right now, but the menace manual has me intrigued about doing a Xcom/Xfiles type of game.

That was indeed a moderator concern when the d20 Modern Forum was created; popularity will wax and wane for a game.

But I think d20 Modern may be a cyclical thing. Interest will pick back up when a major supplement is released that does something truly innovative with the system.

I'm quite interested in it, only I don't have a good campaign for it...so I might make my own. But my interest it has been sparked by some good story hours using modern settings.

I've got the interst, but I'm having some trouble in getting a group together for a campaign. It's a pity, I've got a great idea for a campaign... Sky Pirates of the South Pacific, set in the late 20's.

I could suggest that some of the reason for fewer posts on this board versus the standard D&D boards might be that with fewer books in d20M there are fewer contradictions, thus less need of clarification. Either that, or d20M players are just naturally superior to all other gamers. :)

I guess we're all waiting for the "next big thing" to come out for d20 Modern, regardless of whether it is from Wizards or a third-party publisher.

I'm loving my campaign. It's fantastic. I'd be happy to throw out random requests for advice and stuff, but really, I'm having a great time. I definitely think it's worth it to keep the forum -- the system is flexible enough to support so many different areas...

I love d20 M, and had a really good campaign going, mostly using modified versions of the free adventures from WoC. I was using them to slowy introduce my PCs into the setting, and get them ready for the Big Thing I had waiting for them. Unfortunatelly two of my players were really into it, and one REALLY wasn't. Part of that had to do with personal stuff, but eventually we stopped playing it and moved on to something else. Right now I am thinking about using d20 M for a Swashbuckling Game, but with so much pirate stuff for DnD out there it seems like a lot of work to adapt d20 M to an older period.

I got the core rules and Ultramodern Firearms, but have never run it (got them both around Christmas last year). I don't really like it in comparison with Spycraft. Still, it's doing better than other games I don't like... it's still on my gaming shelf ;)

Right now I'm using the system and enjoying it. I think it's become more of a niche market, but I expect it's popularity will grow especially after the release of Gamma World and d20 Future.
