I'm working on d20 Ghostbusters, but paying projects and regular job have kept me preoccupied. And the Batman game for PS2. And Neverwinter Nights. And "Guns, Germs, and Steel."

But I'm almost about to finish all three simultaneously (not the projects/job though) so I have hope that maybe this weekend or next it will be done.

Of course, that doesn't really count as playing a d20 Modern game, although it does use d20 Modern rules. What I've found best about Ghostbusters is that, if you take into account the cartoons, Ghostbusters did everything from fight vampires and werewolves to battle space aliens to fight the Cthulhu mythos. Just about every horror movie troupe ever invented, they've dealt with.

Which is quite complementary to the d20 system as a whole.

I've got the interst, but I'm having some trouble in getting a group together for a campaign. It's a pity, I've got a great idea for a campaign... Sky Pirates of the South Pacific, set in the late 20's.

Well, if it makes you feel better, that one sentence really fired my brain, and I wrote a little last night on such a game, with historical departure points to make it happen, and some geographical notes on where to do it (I ended up with a rough box, corners at Bangkok, Guam, Port Moresby, and Jakarta, with the center of action around Brunei, and occasional ventures outside the box to australia, china, and japanese holdings in the micronesia region). Hydrogen dirigibles and biplanes ahoy, what's not to love? And I think I can get my group to play it. :)

If you would consider running a PBP game of it! I would be there in a instant!!! :D

Hm, part Crimson Skies and part pulp, eh? Me likey.

I think the decline is more of the result of nothing new or revolutionary coming out of Wizards. Also, few people seem to be picking up third party d20 Modern products and discussing them. I personally just picked up the Modern Player's Companion from The Game Mechanics/Green Ronin, and it's jazzed up my players a lot.

I'd say once d20 Future comes out things will start hopping again. Stronger 3rd party support in print would help a lot, too; Green Ronin is the only Big House putting out print products, it seems.

OMFG, tell me about it. I've seen more life in the Dust Bowl than around my local gaming shops. (It doesn't help that I'm "picky" and looking for more...ahem..."mature" players to game with.)

(Yes, "mature players" is an oxymoron...light on the oxy-, heavy on the -moron, as I always say!)

My problem is finding gamers. Around here all the gamers are either very young (freshmen/sophomores) or very entrenched (seniors/grad students/dropouts).

The people in the gamer "scene", anyway. The older gamers are a clique group of rather ... stereotypical ... folks.

The younger folks are all new and are interested mostly in hack'n'slash D&D and leveling up their Monk character because: "DUDE, I'll get quivering palm ... SO COOL. Dude. I flurry of blows."

*sigh*
HA HA HA! "I flurry of blows" was precious! Where are you located?

Tell you what: I made a fun little one-shot, and it went well enough that I'd actually like to publish it. I have no intention of making money off it, though --that would only complicate things. So I'll try to take up some thread-space with talking about that and asking help on, you know, making it into a real actual product. Or at least, something a GM would like to download, if not pay for. :)
