has there been, or have you done this setting?

The Drenyi saga. I was recently given all of Gemmells books, and read them. They are easy reads, but very entertaining, and I really like the characters. Has there ever been a supplement devoted to these stories, or are there plans? I enjoy the setting more than the Black Company, and I would plunk down some cash for it.

I was confused at first, because there is a Deryni (sp?) saga by, I think, Katherine Kurtz and a Drenai Saga by David Gemmell. When I first read Druss the Legend, I was not impressed by Gemmell, but by the time I finished, I was hooked. I have read several more of Gemmell's fantasy books and loved all but one. Now if I could remember their names. Yeah, an RPG setting based on the Drenai books. That would be cool.

David Gemmel rocks. I don't think I would like the magic system that well, but other than that, a setting could be done with the core rules.

I was given a british copy of Legend (titled "Against the Horde") as a birthday gift froma friend who described it as "A few pages of set-up, and then about a thousand developed characters try and defend this fortress from a barbarian Horde"

And though he was basically right, the story was just phenomenal.

The whole Drenai Saga is pretty impressive stuff (Particularly the three Waylander books).

I too would love to see a RPG of the setting, but other than straight "Low Magic, High mortality" ruleset, I'm not sure what it would bring to the table other than a setting guide.

Vincent Darlage (who did the awesome Conan D20 Website) used to have a Drenai Saga RPG site up as well. It was also pretty good, but I'll be damned it I can find it.

I wish there was a sourcebook for that setting !

I'm a huge fan of Gemmel, and really love his style of heroic fantasy, particularly Druss and Waylander.

Anyone feal ambitious enough to get the ball rolling?

The Drenai series would be excellent but so would the Rigante series if not more so in some ways. The reason why I would suggest the Rigante is that it would offer a little bit more variety and be easier for unfamiliar players to get into. The Drenai would be excellent for those who just love David Gemmell's Drenai world but would perhaps be a little bit more Conan'ish (not that that's a bad thing at all ;) ). Bah... both would be brilliant.

I've read two of Gemmel's Drenai novels (Quest for Lost Heroes was one, though I forget the name of the second - it was about the return of demons), and I was really impressed.
