I have read all his books published in the USA and would love to see the setting done some justice. I don't think the magic is for everyone but it would certianly work for me. Basically magic boils down to a few core concepts - travelling/fighting in the spirit world and the very jedi-like Order of Thirty.

I think it would make a sweet Hero sytem game but would suffer some pitfalls in d20.

Glad to see so many of us like these. Perhaps someone with either more time, or skill, can get something done. Hell, they did a Wheel of Time, and then stopped supporting it. I personally like all 3 main heros, Waylander, Druss and Skilgannon.

No, but revision 3.6 would be easy enough to port over. That is my personal favorite version that I used with Midnight. However, I think the Drenai saga is more of a heroic than grim & gritty setting.
