Has This Ever Happened to You?

Well, I was at the local disco last night and asked a lovely woman out for a dance. Surprisingly, she said yes (women usually don't seem to want to dance with me, but that's another story, check the picture of me in the mugshot thread to see why), and we hit the dance floor. We got to know each other and we danced really closely. I kept thinking "damn, this is good stuff!" Then we went back to the bar to her female friends and sat down. Then one of the friends comes over and gives her a serious french kiss and then I thought: "Whoa! This just keeps getting better and better!"

Imagine my surprise when she tells me that she's more into women than men... DOH! Perhaps I should have seen that one coming, but I've never run into lesbians that way. I don't have anything against homosexual people or anything, but I was VERY surprised to learn that she was actually lesbian. To make a long story short, she said I was cute and everything, but she wasn't that much into me, so I just walked away... Bummer...

EDIT: I hope this doesn't offend anyone. It was just a weird experience and I thought I'd like to share it with you people.

I think the best thing would be to take Lesbians out of the threads title. Otherwise, people will have the wrong idea going into this thread.

As for the situation, it's never happened to me, at least, that I know of. And I think she would qualify as being bisexual, if she does like men, even if she prefers women.

Cheers!

You're probably right, Knightfall. Sorry about that. I've changed the title to avoid confusion on the subject.

Considering I was never into going to the bars. Nope this has never happened to me. Though living in a collage town. I can guess it happens often.

Amazingly, yes, though minus the dancing. Then again, I knew a lot of LGBT people in college, including one of my best friends. So I had (and still have) a bit more exposure than many other people.

For me, the clue would have been the full-on mouth kiss with the friend, not when she told me later. :)

I suppose she could have been "Trysexual" (meaning she'll try anything once), but back when I was dating, my luck is such that she would have been exactly as you described. ;)

The other thing to remember is, a dance and a chat at the bar is scarcely any indication that someone wants to do anything more than exactly that, so orientation isn't necessarily a factor here. Heck, sometimes you see straight girls dancing with other straight girls just for the heck of it. And a lot of time, at dance clubs, you see strangers dance, chat a bit, and then go their separate ways. :) In fact, unless the people are really stuck up, a lot of club-goers will be "sure, why not?" when asked to dance. And again, it's not like they're being asked to marry the person or sleep with them.

I've had some noteworthy things happen to me when I was single, but not this one. :D

I totally agree with you, StupidSmurf. I see a lot of straight girls dance with other straight girls, but it's just that I've never seen them get more serious than that :)
