Have a Character Concept i need to define with Classes

I have a Elf in mind. Melding Swordsmanship with spells. I see them as being nimble (obviously a finesse fighter) that also can sneak around from time to time. Think non-oriental ninja / Special forces with some elven magic backing them up. Now i have to start at level 1 so they wont be able to do everything from the get go but what clases both reg and PrC would i take to maximize their potential.

Sounds like your going to want a spellsword prc. You go wizard/fighter till you meet the preeqs than spellsword from there.

So far for Fighter/Mages i have Spellsword, Bladesinger, and Eldritch Knight. Any reason to take one over the other?

I hate using prestige classes so I'm going to stick to core classes for my suggestions. Some fighting with spells? Sounds like a bard to me. Would allow for healing as well as some very good buffage options from both spells and bard abilities. With illusion options and disguise spells you would be able to sneak very well.

Or perhaps a rogue/cleric? Again combat capablities are there, and they can be augmented as needed by the clerics full selection of buff spells and healing as needed. Plus you would have access to many useful skills to fill that "special forces" criteria.

I'm playing a similar character right now. My build is:

Ftr3/Rog3/Wiz1/BladesingerX.

Currently: Ftr1/Rog2/Wiz1

This works better with the pre-CW version of the Bladesinger than with the new one.

Actually i was thinking maybe Ranger/Wiz/Bladesinger.

I think the ranger beign a being a warrior with "nature overtones" works well to represent a Elf Warrior. They also have access to stuff like hide and move silently as a class skill so i wouldn't need the Rogue levels. I wouldn't need open lock etc as there is already a designated hardcore rogue in our group. I'd probably use the spell-less version of the ranger from CW as in a roleplaying sense having both Divine and Arcane spells is weird to me. Only thing that would be wierd is that a ranger specialises in dual wield which might be a problem with the bladesinger as they like only using one weapon with one hand free... hmm not sure.

The CW bladesinger gets +1 spell level to class.
The old Bladesinger has his own spell list and such.

I have an old style bladesinger who would never work as the new one. Mainly becuase he had Monte cook Bard and no wizard levels. So +1 spell level doesn't help at all.

Though the new class would work as a ground up sort of build.

As far as what you want. Ranger/Wizard may work. Gives you stealth ability and with wizard you migh be able to cover the stealthy things that a rogue class would give that ranger doesn't. I would go ranger over rogue just for the combat abilities. Also if you have CW maybe A level or two of Swashbuckler instead. Use an Eleven thinblade and go for it.

You could go even levels of Swashbuckler/Ranger and Wizard. Using more wands and scrolls for spells than depending on your class. Also with that your wizard would be more for supporting your fighting and stealthing than anything. Maybe even specialize as an illusionist to get those few extra precious spells. Give up Evoke and Necromancy maybe.

Lots of ways to go about it. Depending on your build may even trade Rogue out for ranger.
