Have you ever had a chance to meet a celebrity?

Oops!

A few years ago I met Thora Birch, who had just come off of shooting the D&D movie (Empress Savina). I'd won a charity auction to visit the set of her next movie (which would have been Ghost World), along with having lunch with her, touring the set, etc..

We met and spoke very briefly. There were some folks there from the press to take photos, and they asked for photos of us together. I stood next to her (she's stunningly short, and very attractive IRL) and one of the photographers asked me to put my arm around her.

I decided that lifting my arm over her head was somewhat unclassy so I moved my arm up from behind her and completely accidentally -- I SWEAR -- brushed my hand across her ass. I felt like a total cad and apologized, but she just smiled and the photos were taken.

Unfortunately my brother got really sick that summer (went into a coma), so I spent the entire summer out of town taking care of his family, so I missed my "date" on the set.

Still, I can say I touched Thora Birch's ass. But I still feel like a total lummox. :)

This "person" stole my seat at the Deli yesterday. I was waiting for a half hour for a seat, with my name on the list, and our group was next to be seated. Then she walks in off the street with 2 blonde bimbos wearing sun glasses and sat right down at the newly opened table that was just cleaned. These incidents, rare that they are, make me hate this town!

Selma Blair (starring in A Guy Thing right now).

*shrug*. Closest I ever came to a celebrity was not too long ago. I was sitting in an airport, waiting for my flight. I was getting out a tin of Altoids, and I look up to see former President William Clinton strolling by, surrounded by an entourage.

I considered offering him an Altiod, but I don't think the heavily muscled guys in suits and sunglasses would have appreciated my gesture.

I appreciate that you considered it at all :)

I've got to do better than that. And my sighting of Steven Seagal in a New Orleans restaurant won't cut it.

On the subject of bad B-List celebrity sightings, I ran into David Hasselhoff in a disco in Paris in 1986...

I saw Reagan, Bush, & Margret Thatcher, none of them really close but I could have spit on all but Reagan. I should have went to see Clintion to keep my steak up...I would like to be able to tell my children that I have seen all the the men or women who were presidents in my adult life.

I met Olivia Newton John and Ed Bagely junior while playing b-ball at the FD in NORAD. They walked up to us and said hi.

Bruce Campbell was in town two months ago and I waved - does that count.

....I saw Owen Stevens, but the moment would have been inconvienent for him (I am a RN).

I have worked on a few celebs (country & western singers, football stars, & coaches). Many that I did not know until other people brought it up - and usually after I kicked several people out of their room or jumped their case. I always thought it would have been terribily intimidating to recover Arnold S. after his open heart.

I put my hand over/around/blocking a CNN camera one time (Oklahoma Tornado). They showed it later & my wife who did not know where I was, busted me for fibing. Does that make me a star???

Mostly all minor stuff....I really want to meet Kevin Smith (one of the dudes) or you know....with Thora Birch....envy.

The lady who cuts my hair is best friends with Sharon Stone's sister - the stones are from around where I live. Whenever she goes out to Cali to see Sharon's sister, she has a bunch of pics with Sharon, too.
