Have you ever searched the net on your EN World Handle?

I googled Iamthetest and it asked me if I mean Iamthebest. Is google trying to tell me something? Oh, and apparently there is an Iamthetest on another board that seems slightly less cultured than a piece of drywall...I am not that guy.

Surprisingly, mine kicks up approximately 6500 hits, which have to do with the F-14 Tomcat and the AIM-54 Phoenix, long range air-to-air missile. Interestingly, there's also a wide variety of languages with stuff on this missile, which was, sadly, retired after 30 years of service last year.

On Yahoo...a minor 2,180 references.

Google: a minor 1,140 with Truth Seeker + EnWorld search.

*whew*:uhoh:

UPDATE: Did search with just Truth Seeker with Yahoo. Hits-1,030,000:eek:

Well, since mine is a name I created for a PC of mine, surely I was going to get nothing ... wait! Oh, cripes. Someone wrote a Red Sonja novel ("Star of Doom") that has a sorcerer named Thotas in it. I swear up and down I had no prior knowledge!

Now I must resist the urge to go find said novel (which is in all likelihood quite awful) and read it out of morbid curiosity.

Yikes. Thanks to Joe Browning's web site, people can read who I actually am in the search results without even clicking on the Expeditious Retreat Press site. I hadn't considered this. It suggests that if people search on my real name, they can find my ENWorld handle... :o

I'm going to have to revisit the question of what I say on this forum.

Mine turns up "about" 1510 hits. It turns out that Mercule is an actual last name, and a real word in some foreign language (well, near as I can tell, seeing as I can't understand jack on those sites). Interesting, considering that I just threw together some random syllables for a character name.

If I use "Mercule Corin", the character's full name, I get one page of results. All are me. In any event, it doesn't appear anyone else uses my handle. Any gaming-related hits on "Mercule" look to be me. In fact, anything in English that isn't obviously someone's surname appear to be me.

My real name shows up a Colorado football player and some track-and-field hits. Odd, considering that I don't much care for sports.

Well, not too surprisingly, the search comes up with 889 results, most of which don't have anything to do with me. Aside from the obvious, the Pelgrane game shows up, it's a real name (the first occasion is a woman with back pain :D) in several languages (Finnish seems predominant, followed by Hungarian), and it's a city in Bulgaria. At least, I show up first time on page 3 ;).
