When I've started my game we where all newbs. Over the time many others joined the group, some of whom never played RPG's before.

Most of these people where introduced to the group by my players rather than me, but I've at least introduced the original group.

When I move and have to get a new group, I hope to get all new players.

Almost every group I play is someone's first time. Reasons vary: sometimes people explicitly want to try RPGs so they ask me cause they know I'm into them, other times they've been part of various geeky socieites I've been a part of who've played their game with me, sometimes they've been friends I've said should try it. Even now I've one friend who's been admiring the D&D rulebooks for their art and has told me he'd like to try out some sort of, and two little cousins who I got the D&D basic set for who are keen to play another session. :>

When I first started playing D&D, I was the only guy in town who knew about the rules -- I had to start from ground zero.

I have been playing for about 30 years now. In that time, I've probably introduced 75-80 people to gaming and have introduced more than that to specific sets of rules.

In recent years -- 3 flight attendants, one geography teacher, one novelist, a publisher, one aerobics instructor, two web designers and a chemist.

In a tree.

Yes, 2 for certain and 2 I'm fairly certain of introducing to rpg's, and maybe more but damned if I can recall at the moment. My wife and an ex-girlfriend for certain. The two I'm less certain about were a couple of Germans I'd befriended while stationed oversea's in the Army, and while I'm uncertain about introducing them to rpg's, I'd definately introduced them to D&D (2nd edition, Advanced if it makes any difference).
