2. d20 Modern line haven't been impressing the majority of its fans and owner of d20 Modern Core Rulebook. One can hope that such thematic supplement like Apocalypse and Cyberscape will motivate gamers' creativity and zest for this rules system.
D20 Past was a complete dog on many levels - memo to WotC: hire writers who actually know the rules, m'kay?

Weapons Locker was medicore at best, but Menace Manual rawked on toast and d20 Future, while not appealing to some, is probably the most tool box-oriented book to appear from WotC since...ever?

Hopefully the Modern design team will pay a little closer attention to Modern gamers needs, recognizing that the game needs a different kind of support from D&D or Star Wars, particularly after the embarrasingly bad Past book.

Addendum: With respect to the D&D line, there has been a noticeabe increase in the ratio of background to mechanics in recent books, which does show that WotC can be taught. Good on them.

I've enjoyed Wizards' products more and more ever since 3.5 came out. There was a little lull right after its release, but things have really turned around since then! If any WotC folks are reading, keep up the great work! :)

Yeah, they're getting better and better. :D

The next goal - with 4th edition - should be to stop contradicting themselves in future products and build guidelines, which they actually stick to. :)

Well, that depends on whether you intended to start this thread with regards to the Dungeons & Dragons product line only.

Outside of D&D...

1. I have not seen any Star Wars RPG-only product since last summer. Though recently, the web site have been slowly updating with new material. Nice touch on presenting Jedi Watchman & Dark Side Assassin prestige classes (from KOTOR 2).

The "Living Force" campaign is also pretty much on hiatus for release of adventures. I've got the feeling that a significant problem is the licensing through Lucasfilm: the books and adventures aren't getting reviewed by Lucasfilm fast enough.

The lack of SW RPG sales also wouldn't help the line.

Cheers!

Their books are good, and they do react to the wishes of the community. The rest is less-than-stellar, really. The recent change in customer support (instead of dropping a quick eMail, you have to use that awkward help system.

And don't get me started with the boards.

Don't forget them releasing some books in PDF format. Bully for them.

The problem is that they cost the same as the print version, and that they use DriveThruRPG.

I prefer real books to eBooks, and while I do buy PDF's, I buy those where the PDF is cheaper, as I print them out and ring-bind them.

WotC, if you're listening, how about some miniatures-friendly products?

These Locales books (Fane of the Drow and so on) will be minis-oriented.
