Have you noticed something? Wizards is listening!

I wish they would listen about all the editing and statblock errors.

But in all honesty, it's a bit too late for me. I haven't bought a WotC book is over 6 months and I don't plan to start again anytime soon.

Well, terrain features may well be those tiles in Frostburn and Sandstorm.

No, I mean actual bits of 2-dimensional cardboard terrain that you can place about the battlefield, not 7 x 5 inch tiles.

Transparent templates for area effects are in most of the Retailer Kits, and also one of the DM rewards from the RPGA.

Very nice, thanks for the link. But it certainly looks like WotC want them to be a pain in the ass for consumers to get a hold of, so it basically just amounts to tantilization. And knowing that they actually make the templates makes it even dumber for them to market only to retailers and not consumers.

Yeah, I must agree, Wizards of the Coast has been doing an EXCELLENT job lately with their products. Lost Empires of Faerun was everything I could possibly ask for in a sourcebook. Player's Guide to Faerun was great as well, as it incorporated epic, exalted, and vile stuff, as well as provided a useful resource for all players of FR games. I think they're doing very well, and I'll gladly sing my praises of them. Now if I could only get more money to buy all of these new books...

Don't forget them releasing some books in PDF format. Bully for them.

Now if they'd just let us know which ones will be released in that format. I waited a couple of months to see if there would be a Sandstorm PDF. Now I have to wait on Heroes of Battle.

Also, they need to realize that crunchy books make better PDF's than fluffy ones. With crunch, I want that fast-n'-dirty ability to search for specific text, and copy-and-paste it into my house-rule handout. With fluff, I want some bedtime reading.

I'm sure that not everyone's complaints about Wizards are being addressed, but there surely seems a concerted effort at Wizards to pay attention and do things. :)
Well, that depends on whether you intended to start this thread with regards to the Dungeons & Dragons product line only.

Outside of D&D...

1. I have not seen any Star Wars RPG-only product since last summer. Though recently, the web site have been slowly updating with new material. Nice touch on presenting Jedi Watchman & Dark Side Assassin prestige classes (from KOTOR 2).

2. d20 Modern line haven't been impressing the majority of its fans and owner of d20 Modern Core Rulebook. One can hope that such thematic supplement like Apocalypse and Cyberscape will motivate gamers' creativity and zest for this rules system.

As for me? I'm still waiting for Kara-Tur.

Um, Merric, it's called business sense. If they didn't listen, their sales would eventually drop (as with TSR) and they'd go under. I cannot be impressed with the fact that WotC is acting *gasp* like a capitalist, market-driven company.

I think WotC has always paid attention to player opinion expressed in places like this. I was slightly amazed that when 3.5e came out, they'd addressed pretty well all my complaints about the 3.0 system, even using many of my specific suggestions - eg I suggested Harm & Heal should do only 10 hit points/level, many people on ENW attacked this suggestion as "having no basis in the mechanics of 3e" - well waddaya know... ;)

In my opinion, WotC needs to support d20 Modern and d20 Future with adventures, at least a few to get the ball rolling. I know there are third-party adventures out there, but I'd like to see what the Big Guys could do.

Plus, I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think the thematic/genre book model of GURPS's limitless sourcebook line would work well for d20 Modern and Future.

If WotC isn't going to make D20 Modern settings open content, then I hope they're not expecting an abundance of support from 3rd-party publishers.

And there's gotta be some minis eventually. Maybe if Sci-Fi Channel's Urban Arcana series is a hit, that will motivate them.
