Yep. Ran an elvel cleric back in the first 3E game I got to play in after months of DMing... currently I'm running a 7th level cleric in our RttToEE game (fire and earth domains. Bring it, elemental evil!)

Playing a 9th level Cleric of Zeus right now (converted over from our 1st edition campaign) and enjoying it quite a bit. Clerics are versatile, and if you build them up right they can be both excellent in combat and spell casting.

Currently playing a Cleric, and really enjoying it. I'm lucky enough to be in a large group, and we have two Cleric cohorts running around doing the healing, which means I get to do the whole 'I Shall Slay Thee With Holy Fire' smackdown stuff.

Domains of War and Fire. Need I say more?

I played clerics almost exclusively in 2e, with one exception (a druid). I'm back now to playing a cleric in a 3e campaign. I'm a CN ice-paragenasi (Dragon #297) cleric of Auril (cold goddess in FR) with the air and winter domains (Dragon #290). I focus mainly on buffing spells for myself and my party, and do most of my long-range damage with my domain spells. With all the buff spells I have, I'm the secondary front-line fighter and do a respectable amount of damage with my axe (and bull's strength, endurance, magic vestment, greater magic weapon, divine favor, sheild of faith, godspeed, and anything else I have time to cast...)

I played a 3E cleric for the first time recently and it was fun. Up to 5th level you are the standard healing machine, whether through the use of spells or the handy wand. Above 5th level I noticed that the cleric turns into a battle machine, melee or ranged, especially with the splat book. I was carving through the minions with a club enhanced with Spikes, stopping the main bruiser bosses with Hold Person, and then healing everyone when it's over. With the correct use of divine favor, GMW, haste, spikes, and true strike (and the power attack feat) the cleric is better in melee than the fighter. It was actually pretty shocking what can be done.

played one twice. Being an evil cleric is the best.

DM: You see some skeletons coming toward you.
Fighter:I draw out my sword and ready to attack.
Mage:I get ready to cast a fireball on them!
Rogue:!@#$#@$ I can't do anything to them!
Me: I bend them to my will and make them serve me for all eternity! MUHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA!!!

I'm currently playing a dwarven cleric of a homebrew deity of Labour. He's almost a communist. :D

The best character I ever had was a half-orc fighter/cleric.

My current character is Furion Silverfire, cleric of Corellon. Level 10, and quite a good shot with the bow. Let's just say that I pull my weight in combat, even more than the fighters quite often. My business is hurting, not healing.

Bring your cure wands and I'll pull the trigger on them, but I'm not gonna burn slots to heal ;)
