An unfamiliar presense knocks on Raven's mind, as Tali wants to ask a question without the cultist hearing him. (mindlink, as per the Kalashtar racial ability)

What's this about? Is it important enough to leave the cultist unguarded, bound or no?

Raven glances about, a bit confused, wondering who's talking to her. Then she figures it out enough to reply:

Tali: [sblock]I think we should visit Wicker street ourselves. No point bringing him along & what else would we do with him?[/sblock]

OOC: What are Shoot, Anvuss, and Tali doing? Raven and Seat appear to want to leave the room.
Shoot relaxed in the room with the table and gently stroked Fang, helping keep the animal calm. He wished the Bad Man in the red robes would just tell them where Loris was. He grew bored.

Maybe he could explore the back hallway with Fang. He wondered where the man in the armor went.

Not a bad idea, if there's anything there at all. I can keep watch over him while you fill in the others; I can keep this link between us open for the next ten minutes, so you can relay any changes in plans to me.

Tali gestures in the direction of the door, trying to indicate that the others should follow Raven.

"Perhaps it would reduce the odds of his escaping if I were to brain him a bit? Just enough to render him unconcious? No? Oh very well, as you prefer."

Anvuss will follow the others.

"Come on, guys. Tali will guard them while we go get the documents." Raven ushers the others out of the room. "Tali - see what else you can get out of him while we're gone."

Once out of the room, Raven tells the others, "I say we pay a visit to wicker street. We have the picture on the back of the note. We can probably identify the place & check it out. I don't trust this guy. If we let him come, he'll probably lead us into a trap. But if we leave him here, we have a good shot at finding Loris or Bryllys. We know what sort of gear they wear."

OOC: I'm going to go ahead and assume Seat and Shoot follow Raven out into the hall, just so we can keep rolling at the pace we were going. If you'd prefer I slow down, or don't want your character to do that, let me know.

After everyone else files out of the room, the cultists looks nervously at Tali. Then he speaks up, "You will find great rewards to be yours if you serve Bryllys. One with your skills would be most welcome. You will find only death if you oppose him." He scowls for a moment as if just realizing something, then says, "How is it that you and your companions came to be here. What business do you have with Reeger?"

He has no idea he's speaking to a Kalashtar, does he? Some of us may not be completely devoted to the Path of the Light, but I know of none that would serve the Dragon Below. Tali thinks.

"No one lives forever." He says. Though Imelk will live on long after Italimelk is gone.

"That's hardly your concern. I doubt you intend to tell me what business you had with him. Though you will, of course, tell me whether you wish to or not."

"I suspect said place is just a cover up." says Seat. "Surely they must have a set of installations, maybe a small temple, hidden behind or under it, so I doubt we could just find what we're looking for just entering the place."

"Trying to contact the cult members may be a good idea. I don't know how much silver-tongued you are, but if any of you arrive there with crazed eyes speaking of horrors underground, I'm sure you'll attract the attention of a cult member - an opportunity we could use. I'm sure I can tell you what to say, I think I know enough about Dragon below cult miths to feing some verosimilitude if you speak what I tell you."

"About or cultist friends, there's an intitution in Sharn that could take care of them. It's called the jail. A place we could go ourselves if we just leave the corpses here. I know little about common law in the city, but chances are that manslaughter is a punished crime, unless we can prove it was in self-defense and don't just run from the scene."

OoC: Ok, things have been a little hectic around here lately, so I missed Raven's little gesture in Man's post 245.
Manzanita said:
If she is able to do all this, she'll motion for the others to leave the room with her.
OoC: Raven wants to go out the front door and go back down to Reeger's office, right? If so, Shoot will meet her in the front hall and ask:

IC: "Where are you going? Do you want me to come? I want to find out where that other hall goes!" Shoot pointed to the hallway that the cultists had hid in, the one that the armored man had used to make his getaway.

Fang simply stood and panted, his head, back, and forelegs all hurting from the one cultist's blows.

"OK." Raven pauses, dissapointed that her suggestion was leaped upon by the rest. But they were probably right. It had been poorly thought out decisions that had got her in trouble in the first place.

"Well, we have two options with the bodies and prisoners. We can turn them into the watch right away, or we can hide them until we're done with our investigations and have finished with them. Professor Reeger doesn't want publicity, but he probably is less desirous of having dead bodies and prisoners in his lab. And since we don't know hos long our investigations will last, keeping them is dicey."

"I'd love to get right on the trail, but I suppose that's not a good option. The one who fled got a look at us, and was going right to Bryllys, it seems. If he saw us romp into his Inn, he'd be right onto us."

"I suppose we ought to interrogate our prisoner while someone runs for the watch. It's unclear what the watch will think of our activity, and we can only hope we will be free to continue our investigations. Perhaps we can ask the professor to speak to them, as he might be in the best position to give them a story they will believe. He can just tell them we were working as bodyguards, as he is doing some research that could be dangerous. These men show up and attack, and we defend ourselves. True."

"At that point, we can decide to either pursue the leads we've gotten from the prisoner, or continue what we were doing, which was going to interview Loris' friends. Loris may have been kidnapped, or he may have joined these cultists voluntarily. Either way, it appears he drew them a map to find the documents on the codex
."

Raven surveys her companions. "Shoot, perhaps you and fang could go get the watch. As you're leaving the building, see if you can pick up any trail for this fleeing fellow. Anvuss, you go next door and tell Professor Reeger that the watch is coming, and ask if he wants to speak to them, or if he wants us to handle it ourselves, if possible. I will go back in. Tali, Seat & I will try to interrogate our prisoner further. I don't have much experience on this, but since we've already started, I'll play 'good cop,' and you play 'bad cop.' What do think?"
