OOC: Thanks for the sneak attack damage - I'd forgotten that he'd be flat footed. My great initiative roll paid off after all! Also, the sleep spell has a casting time of 1 round, so even if Raven fails her save, she should have one more action before it takes effect. Will save: 7 AND...she's out!

Round 2: Raven will ready an action to stab at any cultist entering space I7. She'll ask the professor, "Who are these men?!"

Combat, Round 2

OOC: Thanks for point that out Manzanita, I've never noticed the casting time on it before. So, the cultist continues to chant his spell. To keep it simple, I'll have it effect the same individuals at just before his initiative count, unless his spell is disrupted. Does that sound ok for everyone?

Seat casts his spell, and Cultist #2 screams in panic. He turns to bolt back through the door, provoking an attack of opportunity from Tali and Anvuss. Tali's swing goes wide. (As Tali hasn't acted yet, I'll use the attack roll you made for the AOO (unless you have an objection to it)).

Raven keeps an eye trained on the door, and asks Reeger her question. (He'll answer you on his initiative)

OOC: Quick question, do you want me to roll for things like attacks of opportunity for your characters? Or would you prefer to roll those yourself?

No problem. But he wouldn't have used Psionic Weapon on an AoO, so here's his actual attack (keep the damage rolls from above, which means 9 points if it hits): Attack roll (1d20+3=16)

Generally speaking, I'd prefer that you roll them.

Attack of opportunity (1d20+1=6, 1d8+1=2)

The warforged artificer swings again, failing to present a credible threat...

Since the spell hasn't gone off yet, there isn't anyone for Anvuss to shake awake. Therefore, he will do what he can to prevent the spell from going off in the first place! :]

In which direction does the door open? If practical, Anvuss would like to delay until Professor Reeger's place in the initiative order, then slam the door shut to prevent line of effect. If he can't get at the door, he'll ready an action to shake someone awake as soon as the spell goes off if anyone within his reach falls victim to it, or failing that to move toward any companion outside his reach that is so afflicted.

ooc: Either way is fine with me, though when I DM I *really* prefer to have players roll their own. Otherwise I get stuck looking up stats and modifiers for the PCs as well as the NPCs, which slows down the game.

Combat, Round 2 Cont.

OOC: *sigh* I shouldn't have gotten out of bed this morning. Cultist #2 shouldn't have turned to run until his turn. My apologies. I'll just ignore the AOO rolls, and continue. Patlin, yes the door opens inward, so Anvuss could potentially slam the door shut on his initiative (I like the idea), however...

Tali moves like lightning to cut the screaming cultist down with his glowing blade before he can escape. The man falls in a heap in the doorway, his sickle clattering out into the hall.

OOC: Shoot and Fang are up, then Anvuss.

Fang slumped to the floor. "Fang! Are you OK?", bellowed the spindly warforged, seeing his animal sprawled half under the table and half to the side. He laid flat on the table to reach down and shake Fang, who quickly rose from his magic-induced slumber. "Sic 'em, Fang!", called the druid, while rising back to his knees and pointing to the cultists in the doorway.

Would slamming the door with an unconcious cultist in it be a bull rush? He's not really in much of a position to make an opposed strength check and even if I fail to get it all the way closed I'll probably prevent it from targeting all of the intended folk.

ooc: The idea was making #2 run and provoke those AoOs, effectively using the spell to provide the party with more attacks, but then again I had to make myself clear. At least they got the bonuses against a frightened target.
