Heart of Artifice: Part I--Engineered Enigma

"Interesting. You say this girl is a construct? How can you tell... and are you sure she still is, after her trip through the portal?"

Anvuss supposes he could test this by attempting to infuse the girl with some benign magic, but he's interested in hearing his companion's reply first.

"I know what I've... now you tell me that, I felt something funny about her... I must tell she is an half mark II and half human, as the baron was clearly human... maybe because she is in that world, she is more human... hard to tell, but you'll see once we are back on the other side, you'll see." tells Kharas.

"Or maybe it is granting my wish multiple times as well as this new wish," Elizabeth sighs as she steps out of the shadows, "You want to hear it so badly? Well, you were going to figure it out soon anyway. My wish was to be a woman."

"Well, you are a women... why wish to be what you are?" tells Kharas. He then make a link with what he just told to Anvuss. "You mean... wait a second, you were a warforged?"

He then look to Elysia. "That might explain why she looks so human. But... why were you keeping that secret? Ok, you could have just accepted to be what you are, but at the same time, seeing how many see the warforged, I can understand that wish. There is no problem with it."

"I doubt it. It didn't turn Kharas into one. And it didn't activate for you when you didn't want to go through--it seems like it will only grant people's actual wishes."

"Ok, that device have granted the wish to a warforged to become human, and it has granted methe wish to find teh kids... well, not exactly. So, maybe the device have granted a wish to Artifex Maximus, the one to have his own world, created by him. All that new world might be his own creation, and that would make him a god in that world.

In that case, if we destroy the wyrd ruby, we might close the portal for good... anyway, we have a lot much more thing to do. First, we need to go back there and finds the kids, but for that, we must go to Fantasia without being arrested and that can be complicated. As I've suggetsed, we create some cloaking device that would hide our true identity."

"Our studies indicate that you cannot destroy the Wyrd Ruby, even by proxy, without something preventing you from doing so. It may be related to the ability to grant wishes--perhaps the only way to destroy it is to wish it gone, and the other three don't seem to have any spark left to make a new wish. You can, however, simply remove the Wyrd Ruby from the pedestal. That prevents people from using it unless they know exactly how."

"Well, if we need to destroy it, we will need to wish for it." tells Kharas. "But that will be the final step, let's concern ourselves by the first step, how we will be able to go back there without being attack by every Clank build by Maximus."

"I think you won't be able to make the wish to destroy it without all four of them being able to do so, but you're right that we don't need to worry about that now."
