Heart of Artifice: Part I--Engineered Enigma

Using his artificers and blacksmithing tools and humming to help maintain his concentration, Anvuss will act physically upon the thelanium to make his will a reality.

(OOC: How much Thelanium is he using here? Kharas used just the tiniest sliver to make his device, relying on other metals and nearby objects of every variety to complete the hypnotic device. Kharas was also working in an extremely odd and rapid fashion that seemed indicative of an altered mental state--Kharas performed what should have been hours of work in seconds.

Is Anvuss humming to himself for any reason of his own or just the GG reference?)

Just the GG reference... he's Heterodyning!

Anvuss, figuring that he'll be less expert thab kharas, takes a little bit more thelanium than Kharas had used, supplementing it with other materials and canabilizing the item kharas made. If he sees an opporunity to enter an "altered mental state" he'll take it.

(OOC: Just to make sure, he's not experiencing any intense flashes of emotion or imagination? I forget did Kharas mention eating the food?)

He's creating, which is what he likes to do best. That'll make him happy and a bit manic. Also, he's feeling very nervous about the incoming reinforcements.

*Anvuss is able to activate something of the Thelanium's potential, albeit extremely feebly. It will probably take him a little over a minute to finish the device. But the enemy ship will be there around or before then, and certainly before he can finish, grab Kharas, and get over the edge. Of course, there is a wide amount of sky stretching out beneath him in an almost-beckoning blue expanse before the mists obscure everything below.*

Anvuss, realizing he is likely to run out of time, looks around for inspiration... does Kharas have any healing items? Is there anywhere to hide so as to delay discovery and allow time to finish the product?

Anvuss will use the scrolls to bring Kharas around. As soon as Kharas is awake, he will indicate that they need to flee and suggest a feather fall item. He will also request healing, as his functioning "is becoming eratic due to frequent abuse."
