Heart of Artifice: Part I--Engineered Enigma

(OOC: Bah, that's far less cinematic than jumping and making the device in the air :p)

*Anvuss roots around in Kharas's pack hopefully, and eventually he does find several scrolls, though the enemy ship draws nearer. Then he tries to activate the scroll. But nothing happens. Then again, with a major failure, and that scroll ceases to function for the next day. So he swaps scrolls and tries again. Another failure. But the fourth try is a charm, healing Kharas awake.*

(OOC: 8 points of healing. But it took 6 rounds)

"Forget that, if what I've heard is true, we will just fall in hell. I don't want to knwo if it is true or false." Kharas looks around. "Lend me your cloak. First, they must not find us. Take two crossbows and two clubs they are carrying. If we have to fight, I would rather not kill anyone else. And take two helmets, we will need them later." Kharas removes his cloak too. He grabs a bit of Thelanium and starts to look at the cloaks. He then grabs many items he got on him and on the guards taking samples of different color. He quickly crush them with his mace and mix it with some Thelanium. "I need a liquid, ink would be the best, do you have some?"

[SBLOCK=OOC]Assuming Anvuss give him some of the ink he got, Kharas want to mix the powder with the Ink and then use it on the cloak. The cloak will then have the possibility to change color to adapt at there surroudning making it virtually impossible to see someone using it... kind of invisibility cloak... that way, they will be able to hide from the guards, that will be a start.[/SBLOCK]

(OOC: Chameleon Blending Device then? Sure thing. For a one-use 10 minutes +10 to Hide due to Blending, it'll take one round, for a permanent cloak of +10 Hide that lasts forever, under an hour, but clearly not enough time. If it grants Invisibility instead for one-use 1 minute long, make that instead 7 rounds. Invisibility infinite uses would take less than two hours. You can rush that to take half time by spending substantially more thelanium)

(OOC: Per cloak, though he can do two of the really simple one in one round if he uses the extra Thelanium to rush it. He could also try to stuff both people underneath one cloak.

The ship is pretty clearly visible and will be there in a few rounds, maybe four. I should point out that you can just barely make out the shapes of the guards from here, so they might be able to see you too, though the angle isn't as easy for them with all the pillars)

Anvuss, aware that his ability to hide (even with a cloak) is virtually nonexistent, decides that some degree of sacrifice is in order.

"Keep my equipment. I will buy you some time to complete your disguise... and I expect you to rescue me later! It is best we keep our instrumentalities out of their hands."

The warforged divests himself of all his gear and begins moving to the other side of the island. He keeps one of the captured "air swords" but is otherwise entirely without gear.

I do not like putting my well being so deeply in the hands of others, but no other course of action seems reasonably likely to succeed...

When the ship gets closer, he will continue to move about, giving the ship an opportunity to see him without being too obvious about it. If all goes according to plan, they will attempt to aprehend Anvuss first, and only think to look for Kharas later.

(OOC: Not going to take a shock crossbow for some ranged harassing?)

*Anvuss divests himself of all his gear, grabs an 'air sword', and heads over to distract the rapidly-approaching floating ship, which lands just after he emerges from the temple.*

(OOC: By the time he takes everything off and leaves it for Kharas, grabs what he wants to take, and heads out there, the ship will reach the floating island. What next? Meanwhile, Kharas will of course have those rounds to do stuff)

The plan is for Anvuss to be shot as he aproaches, waiving the air sword. He doesn't want to be a credible enough threat to get killed, so no electric crossbow. Unconcious warforged are hard to question. :)
